Great stuff. Loved number 5 (who is ideal co-worker?) because it helped me find the answer to number 4 (check in with mentor). In short...I don't HAVE a mentor, not officially anyway. And to approach my almost mentor with that energy of "hey I admire the way you do XYZ" and make the mentor/mentee thing a little more formal feels kinda..okay now. Appreciate the moment of clarity. As to "dressing up my space", as an itinerant Civics teacher, I have to roam from room to room. But I've gotten myself an airline bar cart that i put all my stuff in, and I'm dressing the cart every day. Added some speakers. Got some LED lights. Gotta put a bulletin board on there and a sticker zone or something next. Anyway, keep rocking, I'll keep watching.

Thanks for the video! I especially like the suggestion for bringing in props (e.g. celery etc). I’ve been doing a procedure/rule audit since my kids returned from winter break, and it is helping, BUT I feel like things have become too comfortable. My kids have become extra chatty (which is sometimes okay) but lately it’s become draining because I’m constantly reminding them to check themselves. Fridays are especially hard because I’m tired and their behavior is usually a reflection of mine. We have good relationships and it’s a great class but I feel like things have gotten stagnant and I somehow need to shake things up a bit.

As great of a school that our reputation is said to have, there are an increasing number of students who say it is a toxic environment and a cause of their anxiety... many of us would like to change this, of course...
