As with all martial arts, my favorite technique is always one that works and that I can reliably do. By the way, the "knife on a rope" has been around forever as the rope dart, or in a slightly different form as the chain whip.

Just want to say thanks for all your instruction. I'm 52 and love throwing. I find no spin works best for me between 1 and 5 paces. After that I transition to military and, sometimes, am able to get ridiculous distance. The 2 techniques seem very similar to me in aiming and distance adjustments. Full spin totally escapes me lol. Thanks again for everything

After watching this video more than once it's still difficult to decide on a favorite technique. However my favorite to observe Mr. Adam execute is always his "no reload/ no spin". With the fallow through and flight pattern it seems like much more velocity. Truly one of the greatest Masters. HIs enthusiasm is the antithesis of arrogance which makes his instruction a relief and reminder not to take myself too seriously. At the same time his eyes when he takes aim is always focused like a lion stalking a hyena. And so many details in split second decisions with such control is a gift to witness. Receiving this knowledge is almost like cheating.

This is one of the most effective techniques U hold the knife like a bo Shuriken , u basically hold it straight using ur whole palm and throw and minimise the rotation to zero it goes in a straight line and sticks to the surface if tip is sharp enough. Trust me works everytime.

I prefer the traditional shuriken throwing technique I was taught. As to throwing a dart on a rope, I think I'll just use the rope dart techniques I've learned. Then I don't have to let go of the rope and I can pull the dart back to me. Also you would get far more power off a proper rope dart launch than you could by hand throwing because of the mechanics of the techniques and the power imparted by rotation. Still, your videos are always entertaining and informative and nothing I said was intended as criticism of your technique (except maybe the dart on a rope :D).
