Lex - there's an acronym which I've used for quite a while now when regarding any type of gambling, and it is this: HALT - It stands for hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. I think in general terms, it applies quite nicely here. If you're experiencing any one of these things, then you are probably not in the proper mindset to be playing optimum poker. You could substitute a number of other emotions for any one of these that you have issues with frequently, but of course they might not fit into the acronym.... But you get the point. Anything that could take you off your A game is bad for your game and for you treating it like a business... For someone who doesn't care about their bankroll and just wants to have fun, this might be okay but I know those conditions don't apply to you personally.

Always happy to hear you talk about bankroll management or any other poker topics that aren't related exactly to the felt. Hand recaps are always cool, but learning about your story or routines that help you succeed is what I love to learn about. Thanks for the vlog Lex!

Hey Lex, thanks for the newest episode of the vlog! I plug your page as often as I can when talking on Reddit or Facebook or general poker threads I fall into. I believe you have an excellent poker mind and I actually learn new ways to look at hands and plày them. Thanks for the newest once again. God bless and good luck at them tables!!!

Great analysis, great content. Love the graphics such as "Hands we're targeting..." On the KQs hand at 9:00 - That's a pretty sexy cold 4-bet bluff, but at least it takes away some AK, KK, and QQ combos, and you have an easy fold if you get 5-bet. On the river, I 100% go for value, for exactly the reasons you say. If you know this reg, he knows you, and he's not likely to bluff into you. When I'm torn between going for value and trying to induce a bluff, I always err on the side of going for value because people just don't bluff rivers that much - especially bluff-averse pros in 4-bet pots.

Hi Lex Just a message to say that I really enjoy your Vlogs buddy. For me it really helps to fill the gap when I’m not able to play poker. I have a successful business so I can’t justify the time playing but watching your videos as well as a few other vloggers it really keeps me current so when I do play I’m mostly profitable. Cheers and keep up the great work mate 👍

I really like your willingness to address a topic at the end of the Vlog such as today’s question of “How Long to Play?” It’s a nice addition that many other vloggers don’t do. There is lots of material (books, blogs) on the actual strategy of poker but harder to find this type of important poker related content. I would be interested in topics such as: 1. Dealing with abusively players at the table 2. Dealing with upswings and downswings 3. How to find best games 4. How do you go about studying away from table. Thanks! 3.

Good vlog Brother, keep them coming. All the best on the felt. The line you took on your set of jacks was great and I would of like a check on the river where a called could of come because your line made no sense trying to value a river call. Betting on the river made it look like you caught up.

Very solid advice at the end. Something I quickly learned when I first started. Would make 500 profit with 200 in then lose it all by getting greedy. Out of the other vloggers I like that you advice like that in your videos. Keep it up
@michaelsessions8373 жыл бұрын
My main problem is I usually get up early in session and don't want to go home because I can't play every day. I mean I have been up $500-1000 within the first hour in a $1/3 game and then lose it all later. It is a HUGE problem with my game now. I need to be able to "lock in" in session profits and hit the road but somehow I stick around and end up losing it all in cooler situations or aggro players.
@kyle7843 жыл бұрын
@@michaelsessions837 Check what the rules are for buying back in with a lower amount. Most places I've been in have a 1-2 hour lockout period(a good time to grab some food/take a nap in the car/whatever). If I'm up 4x or more my buy-in I don't want to potentially lose all of it and have a losing session with the exception of being at a great table with a big stack.
@Simon-xd5gx3 жыл бұрын
@@michaelsessions837 yea it’s sort of like stocks. Have a goal in mind and leave when you hit it don’t wait and hope it’ll keep going up unless you have a solid reason to think so.

Subscribed. Enjoy the content. Can't comment too much on the hand where you lead with JJ as it's not a spot I've ever really studied, but I think a lead, x-call, x-raise line may work, rather than leading the river for pot. I'm more interested in the AKdd hand. I agree with your flop check, but then I really dislike the turn 1/3 pot lead. You need to continue with another check here IMO. As you said, the flop connects well with both opponents' ranges, and this turn is another card that interacts really well with those ranges. You check call flop with QQ, KK, AA and those hands are never incentivised to now lead turn when the flush and most obvious two pair combo do come in. I would have really liked to see how the flop bettor reacted to this card had you checked again, and you could then have evaluated whether to x raise turn or continue proceeding as a call, where your range looks capped to overpairs and a competent player may blast off massively on rivers. Anyway, keep it up Lex! Let me know if you're ever in Phoenix, AZ.
@acealexander68523 жыл бұрын
That line with the set of jacks was absolutely excellent. Bloat a pot early with an out of position bet then check-call turn makes it look like a draw and if you brick you value town your opponent heavilly.

JJ Hand at 14 min: Your line looks like Q10. Lead big on the flop, open ended to the nuts, check call brick turn, lead big when you hit the nuts. Calling pre to UTG1 raise from SB, you can have all combos of suited and off suit combos of Q10 in your range. This makes your line very value heavy. I think, if you just check call the flop, your lead on the river is more polarized and villan might find a call more often.
