First of all, I love the freezer ;) I would have fallen off the ladder myself, but I find the layout of your flat super practical and the price even very acceptable compared to other student accommodation, especially in pricey Munich. I'll probably be attending TUM next semester [that is if my Abinote allows it :)]. If it isn't on your bucket list yet, I'd love to see how is the student social life like in Munich. I know that taking a camera to a party or club/student bar might be a bit awkward but even just a general discussion about the topic would be amazing. Also TUM prides itself to be the "start-up / silicon valley" uni of the EU. Is the entrepreneurial spirit of tum and its students really the strongest in Germany or are those just some marketing buzzwords. Would love to hear your thoughts on the topic. Thanks!

Hey! Great ideas! :) Thank you so much for that! From my experience I would say the student life does not differ too much from any other big city. In smaller cities it sometimes takes less time to build close relationships, but on the other hand you have so many different possibilities in Munich. Regarding the startup uni of EU: Of course there is some marketing aspect, and it only makes sense to display this fact everywhere, but there are actually a lot of programs that will support you on your entrepreneurial journey (e.g. from UnternehmerTUM). There are many classes you can take regarding entrepreneurship, design thinking, prototyping, etc. (I major in entrepreneurship) and many different hackathons, ieadthons, and other competitions as well as student clubs and associations like "START Munich" that do a lot in the startup scene. There are different programs like Manage & More you could have a look into. So in conclusion: Yes, TUM advertises it a lot to make TUM more attractive, but there actually is a strong startup scene (Idk wether it is THE startup scene in europe). Hey, summer semester is April to September and winter semester is Oktober - March. Academic curriculum is different for each Bachelor/Master but typically there is a good overview on the website :)

Hey! :) haha yeah. Berlin is the capital and is way bigger. It does not matter what you are looking for you will find it in Berlin, it offers everything, but of course is very big and you kind of have to like Big City life. Munich, despite being a big city is quite calm and very clean and in my opinion just beautiful. Whatever you are looking for, you will also find it in Munich, but maybe not to the extend you would find it in Berlin. Some people say the people in Munich are stuck-up, but I would say that totally depends on you which people become your friends :). What I like about Munich is that if you don't live outside you can reach everything by bike and that you are close to the Alps, so I go hiking every Month. To be honest, I think the city choice does not matter to much. Most likely you will go to few places over and over again and will not exhaust the entire range of offers. :) Hope I could help.

the little kitchen was included, but I bought all of the other things (mattrace, couch, table and chairs, wardrobe) from the prior tenant for I think about 200 € :)

That’s 52.72 euro per square meter!! Damn it. On city websites and other local websites they show 17.5 up to 25 euro maximum per square meter 😢 around TUM 😭

It is less :) my room is 11 sqm, but there is a useless hall, a small Toilette and a small bathroom that comes with it, so my guess is that 17.5-25 still applies :)

hahaha. You're right about your guess. It is very plain and simple and there are not many distractions here. But I would say mostly because I don't care too much about it. While I study I don't need anything else, and when I'm not studying I'm mostly out and about with my friends so I really don't spend much leisure time in my room :)
