The Mahindra car featured in the video is not the e2o. Clips shown are of the earlier Reva (G-Wizz in UK) which was fitted with lead-acid batteries. There are still some to be seen on London streets even today.

None of these will catch on since most are not legal on public roads of North America. Besides being too expensive for what it takes to build one, I don't care if the batteries are what makes them expensive. The reason is not important. Up front cost is.

What about crash safety regulations? Are there really no crash tests for such micro-machines? And how are they certified for production and operation in this aspect? China, okay, but how is such a car-coffin allowed in security-obsessed Europe? After all, God forbid, for example, if such a truck hits a car, it will fly away somersaulting or on its side! This is not to mention a simple fairly strong blow from the front or side... Can someone enlighten me on this issue?
