5:24 I want a function for capture age - at the end of the game you can play the game backwards until it reaches the point where the unit who killed the most was created, and then you can play the game forwards again, with the view lock on that unit, and watch it's story unfold

Thanks to Capture Age, we know that MbL had 25 villagers idle while pulling off all that amazing micro.

Well when you still have about 120 villagers working, the 25 idles don't make quite as much of a difference.

and that he had 30 minute wheel, heavy plow, and basic mining upgrades which make the timeline look pretty but don't actually result in more resources. A 1600 could have gotten that army out with a 15 minute castle time and taking all of those boar on the way up to castle age.

First he got wheelbarrow at 22 minutes which is roughly 1-2 minutes later than a "normal" boom and he had 30+ more vills than all the other players from minutes 20 onwards and that does resolve in having more res. That would even resolve in more res if you didn't make any eco uprgrades at all. He had 3 TCs up and running from minute 15.33. That is insane! Why can people not appreciate such a masterpiece/talent?

Tbh, I would love you to cover more maps outside of arabia between pros, like you have with islands recently. Arabia is the standard of course, but seeing how pros adapt to their map selections is when you really see how well off they are. Seeing MbL do BF and Viper do Arena for example is always awesome to see.

Also, this is a good time to say this since T90 brings up the Food per minute in this video; Mongol hunt is THE FASTEST FOOD SOURCE IN THE GAME. Yes you read that right. Even faster than Indian fishing vils. Hunting and fishing gather at the same rate (22 fpm) but fishing is usually more E-Fish-ient because fish dont decay. Indian fishers gather 15% faster meaning that they gather (25.3 fpm) Mongol hunt gathers 50% faster (33 fpm) Just dont ask me how far Britain crossbows can range

Back in the dark ages of AoE2, rd 15 yrs ago, someone archieved castle age+building a castle within 10:57, as far as I remember. Standard settings, map was Arabia or sth else with standard food supply, no extra boars etc. Sadly, I don´t remember the players name, can´t find the record :( Civ was Chinese.

I could probably get Castle age that fast in my favorite map, Yucatan. But everything would have to go perfectly. Yucatan maps have a ton of food, most of it easy to get to. But I'd have to sacrifice pretty much everything else to get there. I doubt I'd be able to continue playing competitively if I did that.

God I love you! For the CA team, it's great what they have done for the game, but I find that it would be less clutterd if the creation queue of the unit at the top left we oriented in the other direction. I mean, instead of having the queue of every unit for each player scroll horizontally have it scrolling vertically. I feel like you would save a bit of space and be more intuitive?

Yeah. this makes me feel really slow. I can get close to the average times on feudal and castle as the players not named MBL here, but I have to sacrifice eco by hoarding resources to do it. Years ago I could do it and not gimp myself, but I haven't played seriously since..... 99? 2000? Trying to get back to that is a real struggle lately.

You can wall of choke points which means most player won't attack until imperial because it's not worth the resources. A lot noob players like it because they can build up a base without getting rushed. More experienced players doesn't like because it's about slow paced to play.
