Why is it legal to deny peoples insurance when they become ill and not pay out claims after collecting years of premiums? That's what people would like to know. In don't think people want to know all this gossip about Luigi.

This is the most United I seen Americans in a long time. And it was over a death of a CEO of a healthcare company, what does that tell you. 32% denial rate is absolutely disgraceful. And it’s not because we are happy this man lost his life, it’s because people have BEEN voting, protesting, doing it all but the government hasn’t listened for decades. I think this got their attention. Something apparently had to give and this was it unfortunately.

The problem is that you don't care about WHY the denial rate is 32% You don't know their clientele, you haven't seen their claims. This is why we have a judicial process and every citizen of the united states has a constitutional right to undergo due process when alleged of committing a crime. @foolish3art the denial rate is high because they don't want to pay out on claims. Hold out as long as possible...increase shareholder profits. The executives were being investigated by the DOJ...the DoJ launched a probe into whether UHC was unfairly restricting competitors and running a monopoly. Thompson and several other executives then began to sell their stock without saying anything about the probe... in other words, insider trading.

I live in Canada, and the colleges that police and control doctors here declared war on opioids after the ‘opioid crisis’. They shut down all of the pain clinics where I am and doctors are scared to prescribe them at all. Especially to chronic pain sufferers, as they thought we were the problem. As a chronic pain patient (since I was 20. 15 years), I’ve suffered and had thoughts of unaliving myself, and watched others actually do it, because they didn’t have any plan to “replace” pain management. I would never kill a person, but this has launched what I see as an important conversation.

It's disturbing to see how many people think it's ok, depending on whether they think the victim is worthy or not. How about if it's drawn at...oh, I don't know....MURDER??🤔🤔

Just do give some perspective to healthcare costs.. Here in Sweden almost all healthcare are "free of charge", when seeing a doctor you pay 10 dollar, any operation needed are totally free of charge. If your healthcare spending are over approximately 130 dollars within a year, including cost for medicine 💊 you are issued a "freecard" not paying anything more during the remainder of the 12 Month.. If you need to be staying at the hospital (for example after a operation) by law you will pay no more than 12 dollars per day..This is generally speaking..

I really don't buy this claim. It's an estimate nothing seems able to put a source on. About ten years ago I was in a pretty serious accident that left me with some mysterious internal injuries. In I guess a three year period I had something like three mris, one x-ray, one ultrasound of my arteries, one surgery, and was on at least a half a dozen medications and had maybe thirty appointments with a dozen doctors. Not one claim was denied. There was one point, I think the anesthesia for my surgery was marked as my responsibility to pay, it did take me like an hour of phone calls that was annoying, but it wasn't this outrage. It did cost me a fortune out of pocket, but I'm still very skeptical. Don't get me wrong, the system is broken, I still want a single payer US system, but this 32% number seems to be nonsense someone made up.

Then went to a McDonalds with the backpack with evidence and didn’t even try to run or try to escape police. I’m not sure how yet, but I’m sure somehow the FBI or Secret Services is involved. Anytime something wacky happens, they are somehow connected. They may have planted the evidence. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

NYPD is doing everything to adversely affect Mangione's defense purposely so they'll never find an unbias jury. This is not a simple case. He wasn't a UHC client and wasn't denied coverage or payment. He had botched back surgery, which probably damaged his spinal cord, which, neurosurgeons have stated, could have caused psychosis. Everyone who knew him said they didn't know the person he became in the last month. He became a recluse. Chronic, debilitating pain on top of increasing episodes of psychosis, is a dangerous formula. Media and NYPD should not vilify or hang him before he's even charged. Why perpetuate the one angry image of a man who was calm, docile, happy, productive 99% of his life? Lady Spine Doc is spot on

thats true but 26 is when people are kicked off parents insurance and his back injury pain is enough to make you have a psychotic break. especially bc severe chronic pain patients are denied medication to allow them to sleep or have any quality of life because of the Opioid Crisis and insurance delays your drs referrals/imaging/procedures up to the surgery and then you usually go through the same before the surgery. He was probably at 8-10/10 pain constantly for over a year before he finally got his spinal fusion.

Why does it have to be long process full of forms and paperwork while someone is sitting there dying in pain? Sometimes even the person who is sick cant even handle and is not up to be doing all this paperwork and protocols and calls to the insurance companies! Its ridiculous.
