Pantheon looks very promising, the next classic wow successor?

Ashes of Creation being on the list as "slipped under your radar" seems more like a slip UP on your part. Everyone and their grandmother's heard of it by this point xD
@CaffeinatedDad9 сағат бұрын
Thats the reason it was last! but yeah I can agree that everyone has heard about this game for quite a while
@ToothyKhartan11 сағат бұрын
As much as I wanna be hyped for these, some of them are gonna take a couple more years before they finally release. Graphics don't do much for me anymore since it feels like they're mostly being used to lure you in for p2w elements and other stuff.
@CaffeinatedDad9 сағат бұрын
I'm hopeful that these can pull it together and do it right. I want so badly to be optimistic about the new MMO's in the genre but its sometimes hard to always deliver it appropriately

Bless and Perfect World is competing on a different level like literally the competition is "how many games with this name?"

Anvil Empires is actually a spin-off of Foxhole, devoloped by the same company. Foxhole is an incredible large scale, consistent RTS war with so many different types of roles for players to participate in and play a part of the ongoing war. I've had so much fun in foxhole which takes more of a WW2 style, I'm super excited for Anvil which will essentially be the same thing but more medieval themed
@CaffeinatedDad8 сағат бұрын
Oh really? thats actually pretty awesome! I like these types of games that provide consistent conflict. Reminds me of the old alterac valley days in WoW PVP. Or at least what I was told it was like
@Rakoah7 сағат бұрын
@@CaffeinatedDad That's pretty much the idea, or similar to Planet Side 2, or even Cyrodil pvp in ESO. Foxhole is very interractive, it's very fun seeing hundreds of other people on the battlefield, and it has proximity voice chat so some of the interactions are hilarious too
@SpellboundTutor11 сағат бұрын
As gorgeous as it looks, I think an MMO called "Perfect New World" is going to run into some considerable legal trouble if it actually succeeds, as it feels like a portmanteau of two other MMOs, Perfect World and New World. Might need a name change on that sooner rather than later if it's hoping to survive, especially in the Western market.
@CaffeinatedDad9 сағат бұрын
I actually had a bunch of issues trying to tag the game appropriately because it wanted me to do New World lol

Seems like a vast majority of mmos are pvp focused now. I dunno, it feels like most devs are saying "we cant come up with good solo or co op pve content, so just fight each other.."
@CaffeinatedDad8 сағат бұрын
Honestly I can understand that. It's probably quite a bit of creative work to come up with compelling PVE content and the replayablility of pvp content seems "Easier"

Ah, Archeage. I tried to play that game with friends, once upon a time. So many things sounded neat on paper, but the actual execution of it was questionable at best. In the end, only one of us enjoyed it for how their character looked but couldn't say a single nice thing about anything else. Then it was sold and resold with none of our original complaints changed or addressed in any way.

Lets just get this out of the way... The first game is NOT an MMORPG. any game that has "50 player maps" is not an MMORPG, that is a multiplayer RTS, its just starcraft on crack, its not an MMORPG.

I personally dont like this "beautifull games" done in unreal engine, sorry but they all look the same, like they have no "soul", if you put 5 of them on my front I dont know who is who. But put WoW, GW2, Runescape, etc, in my front and I know exactly who is who.
@CaffeinatedDad9 сағат бұрын
Ya know what? I can agree with that statement. I mean personally im not the biggest fan of TL and part of it is because the characters felt almost souless

I think unreal engine CAN do all of those things (very distinct, yet good graphics) it's just people are pumping out low-effort stuff right now using engine assets and that's why they all look so similar

I hate open world pvp. It has never worked except in korea amongst the standard MMO type, and every single one promising it has died quickly. It turns out, no matter how excited people act for ti, they don't actully want to waste their time travelling back and forth forever or dieing and losing a bunch of stuff. The only western pvp game to do it successfully is Dark Age of Camelot, which GW2 somewhat copied and nobody is emulating them.

Dune is not an Mmorpg. Its a survival RPg. You cant combine an Mmorpg and Survival RPg together. Theyre their own genre. You watch too much isekai Anime. Ashes of Creation's trailer and gameplay doesnt match at all. Its like comparing water and oil buoyancy. It's been in Alpha and it's the same crappy game. Now theyre asking $100 for a pre-alpha gameplay. Funny.
@fabiusque426610 сағат бұрын
The only one that looks remotely decent is Ashes of Creation but it will likely take a while until that one releases and until then we dont even really know what it REALLY will be about. What I've seen so far looks good tho. The Dune one looks cool but not really like a MMORPG, will still play it tho. The rest looks shit.
@CaffeinatedDad9 сағат бұрын
I honestly am excited for Pantheon. The customization and class structure look intriguing. Dune is more survival crafting but Im going to play the hell out of that game!
@EB-bl6ccСағат бұрын
Ashes is probably 3 years away best case scenario. Alpha is shaping up nicely but there's still such an incredible amount yet to be done. It should be great but the waiting sucks
