But at 5'2" many of the trousers are very long and few seem to offer petite length. Would you be able to highlight in your descriptions which brands do have petite range? Thank you. More brands have “short” AND “petite”. Others have only “short” because it’s more practical, universal and convenient. Also, some brands are specially only for “Petite”. I have the problem and usually “short” fits me better .

If you are investing in quality pieces that you think you’ll wear for a long time to come & can find pants, trousers, skirts, a seamstress can correct the length easily & fairly inexpensively. I have my shoes done a lot. I’m 5’8” so if I find a great deal on a pair of shoes with a 3 in bill, I take them to a shoe repair guy who seamlessly cuts the heel down to a 1 to 1 1/2 in. which is perfect for me & so worth it.

Unfortunately I don’t have your slimline figure, but I do try to take on board your advice about accessories and colours and general vibe. “Think Grace Kelly” comes to mind.I’m busy going through my old costume jewellery basket - my husband was a jewellery designer - and resurrecting some old pieces. Not mean we HAVE to buy expensive designers clothes. Maybe pay a little more for good quality shoes, but classic clothes never go out of style. Yes, I love Zara, and stores we have here in USA like Banana Republic, JCrew, GAP amount others with classic style clothes. 🤗🙏

I hope that this trend remains among all, it is much more versatile, it gives much more value to the pieces that you buy and I hope that this gives a total change to the mentality of the people, so that we buy less cheap clothes, which pollute the environment , garments that only serve for 3 months and then pollute the planet. Let's start buying little, versatile, that looks aesthetic and lasts over time.

I loved the first outfit very much, the jean, sling backs and little top; you looked very cute and feminine in it. The blazer didn’t appeal to me though as it is too tight for my taste. I own similar jean, top, and sling-backs, and look forward to recreating the look at the end of summer when it’s cooler again. 🤗 I also adore the linen vest top! Such classy item for summers. I want one in every colour 😄 Would you do a ‘one outfit five ways’ with your linen vest top & linen trousers? I just love this look!

I truly enjoy this channel, Lydia does great work! Not a fan of the background of this trend. The trend encourages people want to emulate folks with old money. No thanks, the way they earned their old money is reprehensible and also the 99% will never live like the 1%. Not even rich peoppe with new money belong to that exclusive club. Hi, I’m 63, living in Florida (USA) and here we really have very hot weather almost year around. We live in linen bermudas, yes! The “short” pants so fashionable for women of any age. My friend, some time I wear short pants ( my town is a balneario) of course, but, for “dressing up “, fancy dinner, a bermudas, fancy top, linen blazer and custom made jewelry you are put together! I’ve always had more of an urban quirky rock chick meets Bohemian artist look (leather jeans, T-shirts, biker boots and blazers) but I often fall back on the more modern classic feel. Especially in the summer when you’re my age and can’t wear tight, low-cut, short things! I think getting to my fifth decade and changes in the body thanks to Covid and perimenopause meant that I look through my wardrobe in a different way. Some of your suggestions have helped me utilise old favourites in a fresher way. I took a look at the Albary waistcoat and sadly it’s already sold out. It’s such a lovely piece i’m not surprised. Would you have any recommendations for something tailored and cut in a similar way?

'Old Money' style has certainly itself become a trend recently. I think it has a lot to do with longevity, versatility, and how wearable minimal pieces are (that can be dressed up or down). Because, universally, we're becoming more conscious of what and where we buy and this style really fits that mentality. Old Money though at it's core, is less curated in terms of it being more effortless and pieces are really worn time and time again because of the quality and timelessness of it ❤

Why has old money become trendy? It depends on where you're from, old money in the USA probably translates differently in England. Country manor aristocracy is old money over there. Here it could be Ralph Lauren or a preppy option. Or just watch the movie A Perfect Murder with Gwyneth Paltrow. That style is old money.

I think maybe it’s just marketing speak and it gets attention? It’s my style and always has been but this label is maybe misleading? I used to call it classic. However after fashion with loads of logos style always goes the opposite way, tight trousers then baggy trousers and so on.

I much prefer the classic fit. And I believe time will prove the oversize trend not to last. Yes, oversized clothes look okay on very tall, very thin women. But on the rest of us average size women, oversize can look cartoonish.
