You don't need the bodyParser anymore on the latest versions of Node. You can just use the two commands below before the routing codes: app.use(express.json()); app.use(express.urlencoded({extended: true})); After that, you can use the following code for your variables (the var# needs to match the strings in your data): const {var1, var2, var3} = req.body If you have other variables like "authorization" that you need from the header, you can use: const {authorization} = req.headers

iam getting request.body empty while testing with http file in vs but its working while testing through outside platforms like postman, talend api tester
