Here the photodiodes are used in reverse bias condition bcz the change in the reverse current through the photodiode due to change in light intensity can be measured easily as the reverse saturation current is directly proportional to the light intensity.but it is not so when it is forward biased...

Forward biased me kya constant current nahi hota hai? Cut in voltage se jyada dene pe constant current aayega. So we can also use forward biased in photodiode. 😎😎
