Investing in Siptah is not about servicing a small segment of players, it is about making Siptah viable to as many players as possible. This applies to the matter as a general point, beyond any question of companions.

1. Safeguarding Crafting Thralls. In preparation for the update, I recommend picking up all crafter thralls from their benches and place them in a chest. Just in case there is a major bug with the new crafting thrall feature. 2. Exiled Lands End Game Update. Retool the endgame of removing the bracelet with a cutscene of the player boarding a ship that sails to rough seas. The player awakes with access to the Siptah map. Siptah has been out for a long time. Give players the ability to use that map but not the building pieces etc. Those things remain behind a paywall. 3. Living Settlement/OG Crafting Thralls. I'd like the "option" of using either Living Settlement or sticking with the current system. I am also concerned aobut lag and this seems like a damn if you do/damn if you don't "feature". I like the concept of a Living Settlement but if it increases lag, make my crafters equally vulnerable to being killed, and now makes moving bases a royal pain to move all thralls, I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. So respect the player and their style...give us options to opt in or opt out. 4. Customizing Crafter Thralls. I'm not sure why Dennis said this is hard to do when there's a mod that's been available for a long whole to customize thralls to include their phyiscal appearance. 5. More Hairstyles. Add body scars and tattoos. Player customization need to be updated with more enriching options. It's been a long time since the last time we had an update.

I honestly agree that Siptah should come with the game now. I don't care that I paid for it, it's old enough content that the money is long gone as an issue (it would be like getting mad when an MMO bundles the oldest expansions for sale as one game, or a game going on sale after being out for a few years). I don't even mind if the sets came with the base game either, but I get it if they would want to keep that as a DLC option. Hope they consider it. And yeah, base moves will be rough with all the thralls out. Wonder if there could be a new item that can be connected to a horse or riding rhino or camel, looks like a cart, and you can just load your thralls into it. They can look like those carts in the Princess Bride when they're clearing the Thieves' Forest, all the people all squished up, holding the bars, arms hanging out here and there. Then you haul them to the new area. Still will take time to make a base move be a thing to plan and think over, but would speed up the "leading people to locations" that happens now (like with my purge base - walking over thralls to place was just frustrating, but worth it for the Barkeep). Your fighter thralls won't go in the carts, nor your archers or bearers and maybe not dancers, but all the "crafter" ones should, but maybe it could allow for a follower or two connected to the cart that won't leave it except to fight things that attack, and like a guarding thrall won't take directions from you. I dunno, but I kinda like the idea. And yeah, more customization for player and thralls, especially since they're out now.

The Siptah map is such a source of frustration. I've had a character on an official EL PVE-C server for years, starting back when we could still export characters to different servers. I actually started on an official PvP and then moved my Exile over to a PVE-C at the time it was an option. Eventually, I lapsed in logging on, and all of my structures decayed. So I parked my homeless, gear-less Exile in a no-build zone and left her there for roughly two years. During that time, in Single Player mode, I ran around all of EL and acquired everything on a new playthru, then copied the character over to Siptah and ran around there, exploring and accumulating all of the knowledge/recipes, etc. When I was satisfied with my exploration and comfortable with my Siptah homestead, I sent my Exile back to their first home in the EL. I would LOVE to do this with my Official Server character bc I very much like the recipes from Siptah. I've wondered why some recipes have been made available via scrolls you can pick up in the EL, while others have not been. It is DLC after all, so I imagine Funcom doesn't want to strip Siptah for its paid-for parts and sprinkle them into the EL at no cost to anyone, but if we can't move characters across official servers (which obviously is highly unlikely that it will ever come back as an option), it's this nagging thing where I wish I could get all of those recipes on one character but know I cannot (like those pirate flags that go great on top of pointed roofs, or Primitive/Primeval armor, or the spikey, scrappy-looking Black Corsair set, or Grey Ones gear, etc).

I still wish they added other forms of entertainers instead of simply having dancers. Singers and/or thralls that would play some instrument. We even have some instruments on the game, would be Nice to have something different than just regular dancers.

I would love instrument playing functionality with music to match. They added a Shakespeare-style acting emote a little while ago (pantomiming doing a monologue while holding a skull), and I use that on some of my entertainer thralls that I've placed on a stage.

Definitely true. At this point, I actually use the dancer thralls to roleplay as preachers and worshippers who exhort emote to clear corruption. Performers should do more.

Thanks Eradication! Practicality and efficiency is how I can see the approach for this update and .. fingers crossed.. with the Xtra time I'd like see the DEV team really score good on this for the future sake of the game.

Thank you for putting these together. If you have Funcom 's ear, any updates would be appreciated. As for a Siptah companion, expanding Liu Fei to fit for both would be appreciated, and probably cheaper than an entirely new companion for Siptah. But I'm honestly sick of being treated like a second class player for playing on a map that I had to pay extra to have access to. While not asking for the same number, at least one would be nice. On an aside, watching your build, are you aware of the trick for hanging curved walls into the floor so you don't have to build round towers on square bases? It's complicated but possible.

Blaming the player base switching to Siptah for the decline of EL player base is asinine. They were the ones that pushed the idea we could travel back and forth from EL and Siptah. That is not the fault of the community.

I don't think they're really blaming the player base in any way, it's just a matter of statistics. Siptah has, by the sounds of it, significantly less players than The Exiled Lands. We already know Siptah split the player base and was generally a failure because just not enough people were interested in paying $20 to get a new map Prioritizing development on TEL is likely just the most sound decision. If you own Conan Exiles, you own TEL, but you might not own Siptah

Again, this was poor planning by Funcom. Siptah was just abandoned, I'd love to explore Siptah more, but you can't do half the things in Siptah than you can in the Exiled lands. If it had been planned and maintained better, Siptah would have been a great expansion

Your last question for companions . They will die and you have to redo the quests again I remember that being in the dev stream

I was like 90% sure it was the case, I thought it best to put in there anyway. Seems like a high consequence to have to re-do the quests, but if they're better than regular followers, the high barrier to reclaim them makes sense

@@Eradicati0nn Can you do the quests multiple times to have multiples of the same companions or is it locked once you get a single companion only to reappear when said companion has perished?

i would love to see them remake the exiled lands with both Hindsight and Foresight, allowing them to add new systems as their developed (like the siptah lighting system)! Would also like to see them make a new map, one that makes more sense then Siptah!

I would just ask that the DLC Siptah be made whole. What I mean is that I always have parts of the map where my character falls through the ground. Places where there seems to be no ground underneath and other places where nothing can be placed. It just seems broken overall. I love the map and there are so many beautiful places to build but it's frustrating so I just don't play it any longer.

Ask them about when are they going to add half-height walls, and stairs to the game. Also ask them about the themed benches.

No need to apologize! I generally don't include the plans for builds I use when I'm talking about news because they're just kinda builds I throw up for background footage, but I can include the blueprint in them, I've had a few people ask. Full disclosure though, some of these builds are not my best 😂

Super excited to explore this new Age. Building different settlements in the Exile lands has been a very big hobby of mine lately. 😅 I really do hope they improve the farms in a future chapter. Would be awesome if we could create a village and have a tavern or merchant where we could sell or buy supplies.

Love the new features coming, but I do hope they add a few on my wishlist:: -Farming/Fishing rework. Current systems are kinda useless and boring. Thralls to go along with it would be cool too. -Bards. Would love to have some music either in our taverns or elsewhere and make it feel living. Not sure how many songs are in game though. -Pet rework. I love having my wolf thrall, but would be nice if they got some new features/QoL. Keep up the good work Eradicati0n! :D

Thanks for the video Mate. Challenging and interesting questions, I hope they get answers. So many questions arise because what developers tell us is very enigmatic and unclear. Even the recently watched stream, in my opinion, raised more questions than answers. It also seemed to me, unfortunately, that the devs themselves on this stream sometimes didn't really know what they were talking about :D

Thanks Piotr! I've said a couple of times that I think the dev streams could benefit from a more solid plan, not a script as such, but a structure to go through. Andy & Dennis have a good on-screen dynamic of excited energy and more technical information, but when there's a lot to show, or it's complicated stuff, it can end up feeling a bit messy. I don't want them reading lines to camera, but a structure of "show this, hit these points, explain this" and a FAQ section for each feature shown would help out a lot

@@Eradicati0nn You see, imagine that you are a stendaper, you have an amazing joke in mind that, in theory, should make the whole room burst into laughter. You are so excited that in the end you can't say a word... What effect will you get? People will leave the room unaware that you could have given them a whole lot of fun. With all due respect, they should prepare properly for a stream that is supposed to be an advertisement for they work and efforts, and unfortunately, they should have exactly what they want to say and explain written down on a piece of paper, and not run chaotically around the screen and quickly change the camera angle, to not show visible errors.

@@piotrgruszka9128 Agreed, I generally don't think "advertisement" when I think of a dev stream but it basically is. More towards existing players, but it's pretty much an advertisement of why you should care about the new content. I don't want a super polished and clinical dev stream because I think it loses some of the feel, I generally feel quite unenthused about surgical presentations of new features, but yeah structure & clear communication in the streams would clear up a lot of questions about new features

Absolute number one reason to make Siptah an actual area adjacent to exiled lands and not a different place.... such a good move in a terrible way. I loved the concept and landscape of Siptah. Make it part of exiled lands, rework it for cryin out loud.

Thank you for keeping us updated on all of the updates n I can't wait for the update and am considering downloading it on PC and finding a server to play in just so I don't have to wait until October! I want to know if there will ever be mods for console players! The mods look awesome and I would love to use them!

question 1 opening doors? the npcs visiting the tavern are unable to, so crafter thralls will most likely be unable to as well. they're definitely not rewriting the npc AI for that. question 2 and 4 how far will thralls wander - they said 9 foundation lengths or so. will they leave your base? not unless it's smaller than 9 foundations. how to control where they go? put them in the middle of a 9 foundations by 9 foundations square area. they are bound to the location you place them at. not the workstation. they dont go in the workstation anymore. question 3 this would be good but i'm not seeing it happen. maybe a mod. companions question 1 Siptah? yes. just not any time soon. probably next year. question 2 will they be stronger? they specifically said companions would not be stronger than current thralls, but they will get extra perks. so technically yes? i guess it depends on the perks. question 3 yes. this was answered in the video by Andy

On questions 2 and 4, I think you might be referring to the distance from which thralls will remotely confer their benefit to benches? the 50m radius is roughly 19.5 foundations, I don't recall hearing anything about a wander radius but I could have misheard

I play on siptah and I also get mad that nobody gives siptah any love including the devs everyone just sees siptah as an after thought and I think that's what is killing siptah because we have to wait to see if they even remember we exist

Just my take on the Siptah situation. You said that maybe 20% of players use Siptah because it is lacking in some areas. Maybe the reason for so few players IS the lack of things and if Funcom added more to it, more people would play there. I personally like both maps. EL for the familiarity, and Siptah for the new factor. And crazy new opponents to beat up. Or run away from screaming like a child. lol

That's most certainly part of it. I think the core issue is probably that a lot of people didn't feel like dropping $20 for a new map. The more lacking parts of Siptah is probably what causes people to play TEL, and thus the devs don't update Siptah as much because people play TEL, so it's a bit of a negative feedback loop in that aspect. I like both maps too, and didn't hesitate to purchase the Siptah expansion when it came out, but I can imagine many others would have been much more dubious or just didn't feel like buying it, plus those that now hear about how Siptah doesn't always get the same updates as TEL

I have always seen Siptah as a 100% single player type map. something you play on and experience alone but has little to no longevity to the wider unfolding narrative of CE.

when you buid your base you have have players who just join a server and youdont see them anymore and after a couple weeks ther base becomes decayed

As far as i Know, only PVP community plays on Siptah. really no point in wasteing funds when PVP players dont care about the Roleplay.

Which part of the video are you referring to? I'm not using any special building tool, the only mod I'm running is Pippi, which lets me do the camera shots at 7:40, I don't use any building mods

Will Worker thralls block pathways, doors just like placed in the world Fighter thralls do? This is potential big issue because they will wander arround without any control arround base.

As far as I could tell, they’re not anchored to a workstation, even if they’re giving it their benefit. It seems more an area-based thing, it’s just if a single crafter can affect multiple benches or if they’re taken out of the area pool once they’re set on a task

4:54 and me, IoS main who enjoys it MUCH more than Exiled Lands (I just like to know why our characters die there when removing bracelet as well, and also why the are resurrected at last place they slept - I know those are game mechanics, but it would be good to have some lore why it works same way on IoS as in the Exiled Lands), takes that personally - I'm joking of course, but still I do find it sad. Isles of Dawn and Dusk are incredibly atmospheric, Vaults are amazing (much more solo-friendly than many dungeons in Exiled Lands), leaning towards more of a horror elements is just my cup of tea. Also, two "raidable" undead strongholds on IoS are way cooler than Stygian stronghold at al-Merayah (and I actually liked Dogs of Desert camp that used to be there amnogst ruins). Yeah, I would like to see rain on IoS too, and also having some penalty for drinking sea water (how in all hells can salt water quench thirst?), but overall, IoS is for me definetely upgrade over Exiled Lands. Unfortunatelly it seems I'm in minority, and devs treat it that way. Also, they weren't exactly catious when transfering NPC characters and other stuff over maps - the guy that teaches you golem-crafting (in ruins of Mek-Kamoses base in Exiled Lands, and in Castaway camp on IoS) uses his quotes about being "here in Exiled Lands" even when met on IoS, and description of "resurrection" in beds also names Exiled Lands only, yet it works on IoS as well.

With how they treated Siptah i am certain at this point we will never get a new map and i also believe that we will never get an expanded map.

I think a map expansion is likely, Dennis clarified that it is possible on the technical front, a new map is more unlikely though, outside of the devs adopting a modded map like Savage Wilds The upside would be that if they did create a new map, it would be free for everyone. The downside is the same as Siptah though, if you want features on the alternative maps, they either increase their workload or decrease the quality. Only way around it, I would think, would be to market the new map as a separate experience, but that could also damage perception of it

ive played since early access and after the base ive had for years was deleted by an admin with no prior warning its finally driven me to stop playing. its been fun but enoughs enough. the games clearly in care and maintenance mode with resources focused on Dune.

These are all good questions. I'll admit that my interest in this update is pretty low. I'm honestly frustrated that the studio continues to add new content to this game and never stops to fix existing bugs. I feel like they are building a tower on a foundation of sand.

It's sort of a double edged sword. If they full focus on fixing bugs, people will leave because there's no new content, but if they add too much content and not enough bug fixes then people will leave because they can't enjoy the new stuff. They definitely need to get better and faster at fixing bugs though, most certainly

Why is no 1 talking about the issue of people hacking?... Speed hackers, Hitbox Pulling, Ghosting through walls and people having the ability to track you on the map where ever you are?.... They must have had 1000s of reports but they dont fix it? Destroyed the entire game not just PVP.

Cheating is a pretty well-known issue. I don't really talk about it as I have zero experience with it, so I can't really give any more information than "it's a problem", but PvP creators like Ceronesthes mention it often, as he encounters cheaters a lot

@@modularbuildingsaustralia Might be worth trying to find an unofficial PvP server? I know the majority of PvE players play on unofficial, it's generally a nicer environment, and a good admin can ban cheaters much faster

Siptah only failed because the map is tiny. Nevermind the other reason of no longer being able to transfer between maps. Because let's face the fact that without being able to transfer from siptah to the exiled lands or vice versa. You had no reason to really go to siptah. Other than the exclusive gear and materials. Especially on console. Because we'll never get access to the map extension mods. And being able to physically sprint from one side of siptah to the other on foot within twenty minutes. Vs any particular spot in the Exiled lands can take you that long from one side of a quadrant to the other. Siptah simply didn't have enough to it to keep playing on the map. It wasn't big, so building wasn't great on it. And overall the base map of siptah is plain, and rather boring. After your first run through siptah there's nothing worth seeing again. Don't get me wrong same can be said of the Exiled lands. But at least the exiled lands is just generally more interesting.

IMO Funcom needs to implement a system where if you command your thrall/companion to stop fighting 5 seconds before he/she dies or if your thrall/companion dies due to fall damage then there should be a 1 hour recovery cool down time to be able to use that thrall again from your main base. In any other case scenario of losing your thrall you would need to tame a new thrall/companion again and that is fine with me.

So just why, was Siptah even added to the game . So for players who bought Siptah basically wasted their money on the DLC , just to end up with a dark ,laggy mess which has had next to zero investment in content added since Siptah was released. How about Funcom reimburse the people who have basically wasted their money on a DLC, which really only needed a map room system of fast travel like The Exile Lands. I will be sure to consider this waste of my money, when it comes to Dune.

Funcom's answer to Soulmask, basically. Bare minimum, no PvP fixes, no hacker/cheater policing, combat system still the same as Age of War (i.e trash roll/sprint spam) and more empty promises.

Corrupted perks (corruption system) and builds need full rework. (Cmon, half of them are usless. Final perks in vitality and authority...well... It's a joke) Stamina balance - garbage. There are lots of bugs still in the game. This new age sounds like a total waste of time. Can't w8 to see how usless this new sorcerer companion will be
