I love my overhead lighting and fixtures. However, I also have lots of table lamps, floor lamps and wall scones. Pluse two large windows for daytime natural light. Only thing that I dislike in my apartment are my bedside tables (cheap furniture). But I do most of these tips. I am 67 and this is the first apartment that I love, it is soooo me. Even my cats fit into my color scheme, lol

1. Can't wait til the day I can afford your course post-university. Your content just makes everything so approachable and I love your tips. So yeah... I've been binging and rewatching all of your videos 2. I'm struggling to figure out an aesthetic since I love a lot of things but am mindfully pinning to Canva a moodboard before I move into an apartment in August. I think I really just need to get over my fear of not having a "perfect aesthetic" apartment. Also, they probably picked beige wall plates because they might have been like 10 cents cheaper than the white ones. When I worked at a Hardware chain, the different colors were different prices. But I love the idea of switching out the plates

1. Yaaay I'm so happy to hear that my content has helped!! That's truly why I'm here. And I'm very excited to welcome you into Small Apartment Styling School as soon as you're ready! 2. You're exactly right. Instead of thinking about perfection, think about your decorating process in terms of building blocks. Just add one block at a time, and eventually they'll create something you love! Until then, accept that no space looks amazing over night. These things take time! Lol oh man, I bet you're right about the wall plates they chose! Ugh. 😂

Excellent tips. You are so right about attention to detail - one of the things I love about your apartment is that every inch of it is pretty!

I bought C by GE lightbulbs. They cost a bit but worth it because then you can completely modify your over head lights without having to buy too many lamps. It you can buy decorative bulbs. The C by GE bulbs can be controlled from your smartphone via app.

What if you don’t have the money for things like living room set. Because, to me that’s what sets your style/theme in your home. I can’t stand my current living room set. I have this ugly dark brown. Want to get rid of it. Becoming so frustrated with my space. Because, I really appreciate my apartment. I started laying down new floors in my entryway and living room/ dining room. (Very small space) They look beautiful. I watch your videos all the time. You are truly an inspiration to me. Please help!!! lol 😂 thank you. 🙏🏽❤️✝️

Paint! (If it's wood or plastic or something.) Painting a coffee table a nice fresh bright white can go a long way. If paint's too expensive, sometimes you can find almost-full gallons of paint on Nextdoor (or Facebook Marketplace or something).

@@hollyr5153 I did paint my apartment. However. It’s mainly my couch and sofa . Try to find slipcovers . That was a failure. Not giving up. Wish I could get new sofa and couch. That’s all. Lol thank you so much for your help. 🙏🏽❤️👍🏾

Hi Shannel! First of all, let's celebrate the fact that you love your new floors. That's awesome, and a big project to take on! So keep what you've accomplished in mind. 😊 I totally understand the struggle of not loving your living room furniture - it's such a central area, and your couch is like the star of the show! But it also tends to be quite an investment piece. So first, I want you to try to remove yourself from thinking about things in terms of "living room set" - that can feel overwhelming because you're thinking about multiple pieces, and that adds up money-wise. So instead, let's break it down into individual pieces, starting with the couch. If I were you, I'd think only about the couch for now. It's a focal point in a living room, and what I find with focal points is they can help everything else around them fall into place more easily. So basically, if you figure out your couch first, that'll make everything else easier. So, I don't know your price range for a couch, but one place I'd check out if I were you would be World Market. They're one of my go-to stores, and they're pricing tends to be mid-low compared to other furniture/decor stores. Plus, they tend to have pretty awesome sales! Give their website a browse and see if anything looks like a good fit for you: www.worldmarket.com If that's outside of your price range, I recommend keeping an eye on Facebook Marketplace, to echo Holly's comment in this thread! People have found some really awesome stuff there. You just have to check regularly so you don't miss out on the right piece! Haha I feel like I just basically wrote an essay in a KZbin comment. 😂 I hope this was helpful, and remember: one piece at a time!

@@ModaMisfit first and foremost. Thank you so much for responding to my comment . So excited right now !!! You are truly amazing and beautiful. It’s been a journey for me. Being on a very tight budget . Because, I trying not to invest to much into my apartment to much. Not sure how long I’m going to be there. However, I’ve always try to invest in timeless quality pieces for the most part. Like with a lot of furniture . You get what you pay for. So, I search in places like (RH )outlets or smaller stores. Never would have thought of world market. I love watching your videos. Such an inspiration to me. Thank you so much again for keeping me encouraged. I did send a request to join your Facebook group. Keep being your beautiful creative self. May you and your new find love. (Forgive me . I forgot his name )SMH 🤦🏾♀️ . Be blessed on your journey together. Please be safe. A sincere supporter shannel. 🙏🏽❤️✝️ …oh and by the way. Love the essay . Lol . 😂🥰
