Here is a video on how to style a shirt in different ways. Is there a way that you style shirts that is a bit different? Which of the above is your favorite?

Darling Karen I wish I could give you a million thumbs up! I'm 58 years old and I'm digging all of these looks!! Especially the off the shoulders and backwards. In the 70's I would wear clothes in different ways than what they were intended for and people would call me a Kooky girl, that's why I absolutely adore you. I would love to know at what age did you get into fashion and style? I'm sure it started very early. Big hello from San Francisco dear.

This was such an inspirational video for me. I'm trying to come out of a serious bout with depression, and completely limited myself to sweats, and t-shirts because of weight gain. I started to feel trapped, wanted to dig myself out of a hole I, and my circumstances created and slowly became interested in fashion again. This opened up new possibilities for me. Thanks!

zanichar Wishing you love and happiness. I cant tell you to snap out of it. I realize some people just cant. But I can tell you that God loves you and thats ALL that matters. And more than that. Hes a miracle worker. Begin a relationship with Him, find out if you need medication and take it, find something you LOVE and immerse yourself in it. If its fashion, create a moodboard, watch fashion videos on KZbin, read exotic fashion magazines, then allow yourself to dream. Start a blog, buy a camera and take pics of your outfits and others, even design your own dream collection. Play the what if game, "lets just pretend I could design 10 pieces the way I would want them to look". If you do it and like it, have a couple pieces made by a seamstress. Whatever you do, YOU DESERVE TO BE HAPPY! PLEASE KEEP TELLING YOURSELF THAT. I dont know you but I desperately want you to be happy because I know you deserve it. God bless you!

I wear the androgynous look ALL the time with a long boyfriend blazer, over the knee boots (over tight pants) and ALWAYS with a men's collar pin (the one's that link both collars together i have a skull one!) or collar chain (linking the collars tips) and very girly makeup to offset the very masculine look (heeled OTK boots to make it a touch feminine yet bold) i did the long shirt dress/pants combo with an off-white trench coat (the flowy soft ones) tied it securely in the front as i only wore a bra n light wash jeans (high waisted so nothing showed) and it is a very similar look to yours! oh and I wore the silver zara boots YOU made me buy with it ha!
@ninjaturtles121217 жыл бұрын
no not at all!! i got mine at asos for under $8 and one at goodwill for 50c. I just saw a silver stag one on asos i am getting! they are all in the men's section under accessories and men's jewelry. I also repurpose men's lapel pins into a collar pin connecting both collars. got one at hm for $1 but yeah everything of this nature from the men's section! I sometimes wear a tie with this look as well. the OTK boots really allow for a very masculine top! i again got a tie from asos but in the women's section (shorter length perfect for shorter torso compared to men's ties) and it was plain black with a large bright bumble bee on the pointy end of the tie! great with a white shirt, black blazer, black boots! (the bumble bee yellow pops!)

I got lots of great ideas from this video, especially for how to finally wear my shirt dresses. I bought them, never liked the fit and couldn't quite get the idea I needed to wear them. They are adorable and oversized so this was the PERFECT video for me to watch. Thanks again, so much. I am a 70 year young woman, who loves chic style, who creates and designs my own jewelry, and has so much trouble finding clothing that is stylish and age appropriate. You show such universal ideas, that I find joy in watching how you inspire everyone to find their own chic style. You give such great ideas for the "every woman"! They transcend age and shape, and give the wearer the freedom to create one's own individual and unique style. Of course, that you are such a stunning woman certainly underscores your creative ideas. Keep doing what you are doing, and thank you for sharing your wonderful videos!

I was waiting for this video, I asked for it. I like very much the stripes on stripes with the two similar masculin shirts and then the turned around shirt, which could be easier to wear with a Mao collar (the italian paesano type). I've tried most of those stylings myself and I have to say that depending of the fabric, those stylings give different results, a silk drapes always. You can try some more ideas if you have a boyfriend with evening printed shirts, much bigger than you, ideas that give you maxi skirts or short dresses. Thank you very much for the video.
@KarenBritChick7 жыл бұрын
I agree the fabric will give a completely different feel to the same look. It's whichever you like more or suits you better. Yes so right about short dresses etc. All 100% doable and original.

I really like your message nearing the end of the video. You inspired me to rethink about the clothes I own, that I have thought to be unusable because it is too big, too slouchy, or too overwhelming. I always love oversized style, but I have been told that I don't look polished enough to pull it off. Thus, I have to give away some of my oversized shirts. However, watching your video convince me that I can pull it off by styling it in particular way! Thank you very much, Karen~~~

Notes: 1. off the shoulder (normal size, unbutton and push it back. Use strapless/bandeau bra) 2. one shoulder look (best with oversized shirt. Mansy type). Move it off the shoulder and tuck in. 3. the one tuck look: for classic white mansy type shirt: tuck just one half of it, halfway across. 4. back to front: keep the bottom 2 buttons closed, wear it on reverse. The back will show. 5. knot in front (use bralette underneath, leave unbottoned. 6. shirt as a skirt: use a men;s oversized shirt, put around waste, close lower buttons, tye the sleeves in front. Pair with a simple T-shirt. Can produce a bow. 7. use as belt. Use a men's shirt, do half tuck, use another shirt, fold in half, put under boob, wrap around and tie in front. 8. layer as a bandeau: same as #7, just wear it higher. (For small chest) 9. bandeau only: for hot summer. Tied in the back. 10. androginy: all buttoned up. Boyish. Decorate the nech with a broach. 11. the shirt dress: and wear it as a shirt. Unbutton from waste down. Wear as oversized shirt, over jeans. 12. belt accent a shirt dress: by using another shirt (patterened: gingham) as belt. Tie in the back. 13. last thoughts: shirts are more structured, undone, anything goes. Playing with clothes, out of the box. Consider your shape. Customize & adjust.

I really like finding flowy shirts and blouses that have the placket from top to bottom. There are many that have it only partially down the front which is so disappointing, because they cannot be worn as a lightweight kind of jacket/cardigan. My favorite outfit is a midi or maxi sleeveless dress with a flowy blouse worn open over the dress. It works for all seasons, for dressing up or being casual. It is an outfit that does not annoy or hurt my super sensitive fibromyalgia self in any way. If the blouse is the right kind of print, it even camouflages my not so small bust enough to go braless in public! Crinkle cotton or rayon fabrics make these shirts so comfy and breathable. They also are super easy care and wear, no ironing needed. I usually tie up the front bottom edges together or each side separately for a high-low look.

Great video! I love oversized men's shirts! I always find Armani shirts at thrift stores, kind of like the frayed neck and cuffs. Stole all hubbys that no longer fit as well! Funny, I always felt undone cuffs (my pref as well) looked more masculine, like a guy just off work, tie, jacket off. I've tried a lot of these, not the belts though, as I'm so tiny it winds up being too bulky (right now I need to cut any bulk for sure!) I recall years ago seeing somewhere how to wear a men's shirt as a dress, but never was able to do it because of bewbs! I'd need a gigantor sized shirt! I do the front tuck literally just the front, been doing it with tees, any kind of top for so many years now - it's funny to see it on mainstream looking people! Have a lovely holiday weekend! 😘⚡️Jet
