Focus on Being There for Cool Things: The best shots come when you’re in the right place at the right time. Whether it’s nature or events, be present with your camera.
Cameras Can Be Replaced, Moments Can’t: Don’t let fear of damaging your gear prevent you from capturing amazing moments. Get insurance if needed and focus on the shot.
Not Every Photo Has to Be Better Than Your Last: Aim for progress over perfection. Every photo has value, even if it’s not your best.
Location Scouting Is Key: Great photos often result from careful planning and knowing your locations well. Scout and familiarize yourself with your shooting spots.
Learning Never Stops: Continuously learn new techniques and approaches. Watch tutorials, read books, and experiment with new ideas.
Make a Point to Look at Other Photographers’ Work: Study other photographers for inspiration and to learn new techniques. Books and websites are great resources.
I Don’t Care How Many People Have Taken the Photo Before: Don’t hesitate to shoot popular landmarks. Your unique perspective adds value.
Photography Is the Culmination of Many Skills: Don’t beat yourself up over weaknesses in areas like marketing or social media. Focus on improving your overall skill set
.
Your Good Ratio Will Get Better, But It’s Never Perfect: Capture anything that interests you. Over time, your ratio of good shots will improve.
Go Back Through Old Photos and See What You Missed: Periodically review your old photos. You might find hidden gems you missed before.
The Most Important Skill as a Photographer: Learn to recognize a good photo. Study and understand what makes a photo great.
