+sultana1001 I am not completely sure, but a friend who knows Misse just told me that her name is Araceli, but she never pursued tango career. A pity in my humble opinion, she would have been one of the greats like Natalia Hills and Geraldine Rojas had she continued.

No offence, but Geraldine Rojas was popular, but certainly not one of the greats. As a note of interest, Geraldine and Gabby were partners when they were 16 yrs old. No one had heard of Geraldine until the movie "Assassination Tango". When Luis Bravo was putting together "Forever Tango", he combed the world for the 12 greatest tango dancers (6 men and 6 women). To his amazement he was told by everyone he talk with that Natalia Hills would be his star in the show. She wore heavy makeup lied about her age to Luis and only after "Forever Tango" won a Tony on Broadway, did he discover she was 18 years old. She was an original cast member of the show at 17 years old. She is truly one of the greatest living tango dancers in the world today.

What a silly and meaningless comment to make. Why would you try to compare two amazing dancers for no reason. Your comment just exposes your ignorance is all I will say.

Geraldine was an icon of Tango even before assassination Tango..... Just go and watch how she was dancing with Javier on La poema in Taipei long before 2002...

1990, Gabby is now 38 years old. He began dancing tango at age 4. He is currently ranked 3rd in the world behind his brother, Sebastian (2), and Miguel Zotto (1). He is the youngest tango dancer ever to have his name enscribed on the plaque honoring all the greatest tangueros at the Club Moran, the oldest milonga in Bueno Aires. He is also the reason Gustavo Naveira, Pablo Enza, Pablo Pugliese, and Sebastian Arce all left traditional tango and went into the "tango nuevo" phase; knowing they could never reach top status in tango as long as the Misse brothers were alive. These four great dancers, because they "sold out" with nuevo tango "and for the buck", will never perform in the top milongas in Buenos Aires. Keep this in mind when you begin asking questions about tango: it's not a dance, it's not an art form, it's a CULTURE.

@@richardrobles6241 Thanks for the cool information. I assume Osvaldo Zotto is among the names on the plaque. Is Javier Rodriguez on the plaque at Club Moran?
