no this is a missleading stat in the cars system. Its more like 7L/100km 60L tank with mostly 110km/hr driving with no charge station support is around 800km per 50L of fuel.

@AllTerrainActionEV pretty thirsty.

@@mightygood1 2.2T tare weight, largish vehicle and 110km/hr movement its a pretty good economy for those factors but yes you could get a cheap ICE vehicle for similar economy, except then for daily driving you dont get EV only benifits during the week. Reasonable final result imo.

How are they calculating the 4l/100km? 28.2l of fuel usage over 400km is more like 7l/100km (28/4)
@AllTerrainActionEV28 күн бұрын
This is correct I’ll explain how they work that out in another video soon.
@mickjoebills28 күн бұрын
I think it is worth noting what the predicted range is for the subsequent 800km trip, because subsequent days on road trips may well begin without the benefit of the battery being charged via the charge port overnight. Put another way, how much battery was left at the end of your trip?

Did you refuel it when you got home? How many litres did it use after 800 k’s and was the computer accurate in the fuel consumption measurement?

This video explains it - but it’s detailed and the best way to stretch out battery life and maximum battery efficiency if you’re going to do more than the capable EV only range in a single drive. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3qzf5pva9h1mtU

The EV motors are way more efficient than my Camry Hybrid at 7L/100kms

@@l33tr4n55 overall electric motors will be more efficient - if we could access chargers easily. In Australia though as it is outside of metro area electric first vehicles are quite well suited for now and maybe for the next 3-5 years until we catch up with infrastructure. Till then this is great solution to the changing evolution!

Definitely would have done more kms doing a a mix of city/highway driving. Fuel consumption is always high on motorway driving since you did the entire trip on the motorway. Do another video of normal day driving in the city etc, it should go over 1000km
@AllTerrainActionEV16 күн бұрын
I will do this test, have you had good results this way? Presumably the EV benifits is start/stop traffic combination of better low speed efficiency and regen. Makes sense, this was just to see how it manages on the highway speeds. Title is a hit misleading now that I think about it so has been updated to rear 110km/hr test and will make a city driving one too. Thank you for your feedback.

Around the 12 minute mark, you’re wittering on about economy whilst driving in HEV Sport mode, probably the least economic way of driving it 😂.
@AllTerrainActionEV16 күн бұрын
Is true, but if you drive this car on a daily basis you’ll quickly learn sports just adjusts the input curve for power demand and top end allowable power output, if you drive like a conservative driver it’ll return similar eco figures - when on highway I make it a point to stay in normal or sports so I have instant input response when I want it eg. Overtaking or getting around cars.
@mirzakul214728 күн бұрын
I’m pretty sure its going to consume more fuel on the highway because the engine has to run to power the motors. EV’s are generally not as efficient on the highway. Im sure you could get a lot closer to the their stated 1000km range if you had more city and urban driving which from what I can see in your video’s you do a lot of highway and extra urban driving therefore your range will be lower

It’s a good theory, I actually just did around 200 from this location to another at 100km/hr and that has dropped ~2L/100km it looks like for that distance. So as you say it’ll improve as the avg speed reduces, same reason why driving to work on my EV only days if go via freeway I get to work using only 24% and if I go the 80km/hr way I get there using only 17%
