When you get that back together I'd be careful running it on pump gas. With that piston set up you could be well above 12:1 compression.

Great diagnosis, keep up the good work.Let me know if you've got a PO box, I'm winding down my sport quad seat cover business and focusing on utility quads. With the time and effort you put into these machines I would be happy to contribute a recovered seat or a couple of covers to the cause. I don't ship generally but in this case I'd be happy to make an exception. Take care.

Man I've watched your videos from back when you started and you're such a better mechanic and actually take your time to repair everything now. I'm glad you do. I love these machines and hate to see them die over such a simple fix. All it takes sometimes is time to fix it.

the cam gears slip on the cam shafts in those motors... as much as 50 degrees "on 130 hours"! need an angle finder on the lobes with the crank at tdc... 13000rpm dose weird things.

@Razor6On3
@Razor6On3 2 жыл бұрын
Joe the two spring washers and half clutch are in there from factory to make the clutch easier to pull and last longer. Alot of people including myself take those out and add another clutch plate for added clutch engagement and more clamping force. It looks as if someone has done that for you. I would leave it just like it is unless you are wanting it all factory.

Not having that half friction plate with the spring washers is fine if it’s replaced with a normal friction plate, people do that because that tiny plate wears faster and then that’s what burns your clutch out because that one isn’t as strong
@diesel8762
@diesel8762 2 жыл бұрын
Do not use a spring on the clutch plates. Those are taken off when clutch is replaced. It will mess up the clutch plates.
@CNMotorsports

So with your compression tester, you can use the end you screw into the hole, and a air compressor end and hook it into it, and hook that up, and you’d have a leak down tester for the rings and head gasket.
@davesplace1307
@davesplace1307 2 жыл бұрын
On the clutch itself you say its missing the 2 springs and small friction disc. Sounds like they did a full friction mode. Meaning they took the spring and extra fiber out and replaced it with one friction disc to accommodate for the spacing. Some people say it give you a more smoother, shorter shift. And some say it's not worth it. Shouodnt have an issue as long as there isnt much play in the clutches

Not sure if you take suggestions. But I’d really love to see you get a Yamaha tri moto 125 or 175. I have one that had sat in a yard probably whole life and probably stolen many times. Long story short it is missing the pull start system which is impossible to find and needs crank seals so I’m cr125 swapping it. But would love to a running stock example on the channel. I intend to buy another one.

use those extra nuts on the case splitter and use them to hold the splitter so that that hard ass metal isn't right on your aluminum. if they split easy it doesn't really matter honestly. but if it doesn't want to separate easily you will damage the aluminum 100% of the time. even if its only the stator cover and doesnt hold fluid, never do this on any nice bike lol
