Just heat float up till it leaks out. Just did it on a snowblower . Pin pricked the hole and soldered it up. Worked great, no more leak.

How convenient that you live on a hill! Makes push starting a breeze. Had a Bella 200 scooter in the 70's that we push started all the time.

These are the kind of bikes you should do.... Cost nothing, worth a lot when you get them running. And will you be selling this one or not?

I had an XL 175 from ‘76. Such a fun little thumper. It was NOT FAST! LOL! Scary to drive on the road really. I mostly did trail riding with it. Also had an ‘86 KX125 that I raced and an ‘88 Hurricane 600 I loved driving on road and track! Miss my motorcycle days!

It's missing the Airbox that the battery box would have been attached too..also missing the voltage regulator that also would be mounted on the side of the battery holder. with no voltage regulator there is a chance of burning up the coil and possibly the stater.

Old motorcycles didn't necessarily have battery. Mine had a dyno which generated electricity and it was kick started.

The biggest problem is that you sit so low on the bike, cars dont see it. Get a dune flag so you dont get run over.

I haven't seen a 1966 look that clean since 1966. How did you decide on a 40/1 mixture? Looks like it is working well, but at the time I think we were using 20/1. With the lack of smoke it looks like it is running fine. Thanks for a good job!

I’ve had many of those bikes. Cam problems are common and stripped out plug hole. All the electrical runs of the stator system and don have batteries. She is clean nice find. I would have bought that for sure. I was thought how to ride on one by my older brother that took his life 12 years ago but those bikes bring back great memories

I don't know when this was recorded, but I just found on ebay the kickstarter gear itself for the xl 125 or the complete kickstarter shaft with all the gears on it ready to drop in or a few complete bottom ends that you can take out what you need, keep looking cause a factory gear is your best bet not some rando that says they can machine a gear for you. If your willing to spend the money and time to go get these bikes then it should be no big deal to spend a few extra bucks to get the parts needed to make it right to maximize profit, parts are still out there you just have to keep looking and don't give up when the first search fails. I been doing the same thing you do for 40+ years buying fixing and selling so I can say I learned a few things in those years. Be well Joe.

The oil level has to come up to the bottom thread! On 77 years old. I had one. That oil was put in before it was stored.

The oil level has to come up to the bottom thread! On 77 years old. I had one. I fortunately they left the tank empty. The plugs are loose because they put oil in it through the plug hole when they stored it. Or they’re loose because somebody else has looked at it but the oil is spotless. You should lube the cam follower. On the 1965 big Bear scrambler version of this the carburetors were just held on by friction and a pinch bolt and one of my carburetors would constantly come off. Apparently I wasn’t the only one and they started bolting them on the following year.

Just run from a temp gas tank. A fuel can. And send out the tank to get coated.

You’re ruining the motor. You’re going to have piston on slap. It’s cold. The tolerances are wrong.

Great channel but I never understand how just keeps kicking or whatever when something is broken. Like the kick start, he just kicks & kicks & kicks on & on instead of knowing it's broken, find out why just in case doing more damage. But I've notice he'll keep on trying & trying until he's either made it worse or decides to investigate. Nit that I care as it's not my stuff. But is counterintuitive to me to keep on trying it till it gets worse.
