Hi, Autotracing is simply a loose terms use for an app to capture video motion to a 3D model/character. In my case the tool I used reside in Google Colab environment called "Colab Autotracer v2). oh if you are a vtubers, you probably go for something simpler to use .. and choosing the right tool also largely depend on how much time and money you will spend and learn. I suspect in most cases you just get a video of 3D animation and super impose to your video .. otherwise those vtubers are probably have deeper knowledge of 3D animation or they "purchase" animation from someone else (and you can also buy beautiful models out there).

Mine says SystemExit: -1 when it reached to Person Estimation in the video it is trying to detect

i want to simplify my understanding of this plugin, so u upload a video u want to use then the program makes the motion files then it gives u the MMD ?

Sorry haven't use this tool for a while. So can't remember for sure. Suggest you go with AI tools with video2video tracing as an alternative. You can replace with many realistic or anime characters .. worth investing time to learn AI tool. I uses free tools like Stable Diffusion with mov2mov and deforum extension to do dance tracing now.You can also also consider putting them after video2video tracing into 3D environment like Blender ... eg. see this video where I have 5 MMD characters, replaced with scary people and then replace with realistic beautiful girls in Blender environment. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIDVZoKjft6kaMU

@@arandompfplayer3065 Sorry belated as I am focusing more on supporting music video making with new 3D animation techniques, rather than this tutorial site for the last 2-3 months. Well if this is about "expose_data" error, suggest you download "expose_data" again from the required site, and then upload to the "autotrace" folder again. Then rerun. I had done this 3 times for different computers that other ppl use as well. But never encounter this error .. if the steps I mentioned in the tutorial is followed STRICTLY.

Hello thanks for the tutorial it worked but, i don't know how to change the ik to fk, or scale it down the sensitivity is driving me insane.😀😩

In Blender, you cannot change ik to fk for the same motion you like to retain. The work around is to bake the animation data with ik. You can use this action or export it as .vmd file, and reimport to your MMD model (with ik disabled, thus fk !). In terms of "scale down the sentivity" .. I assume you are trying to rid of those "small movement" that is not needed that typical of "auto tracing" results. Well this is a quick way approach and usually can rid of those small jerky movement from my experience. However, if you really want to do the perfect way, then you do "smoothing" by focusing on "peak" movement and retain their keyframes, and removing others. This manual process takes very long time to do .. but it's advantage you can then have really smooth movement, and also able to focus / adjust "peak" to match 100%. You can see an example of the results in this video .. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHLbiYihmNSXbpY The video shows the result of simple smoothing (~30 mins workeffort for a 1000 frame tracing) and a more perfect smoothing (~6 hours or more effort focusing on filtering only "peak" motion keyframes).

Alternatively, just bake the motion in Blender and re-save the .vmd file for use in other MMD models ..

I did a simple tutorial .. more like a few simple instruction around using "pose approach" to resolve all small unwanted motion. But the effort is clearly more .. a few hours of work if u looking 1,000 frames with >100+ poses u like to keep and auto link them in Blender which Blender does a pretty good job. Hi Alisa, Just ensure you have a folder name correctly in Google drive ("autotrace"). And the video file name "***.mp4" (eg. input.mp4). This video file name need to be entered EXACTLY in the autotrace program in step 5. Notice sometimes b'cos you may have rename the video file for some reasons, but you are still in the same session. Autotrace program don't realise that. Solution: as shown in my tutorial is to rename the video file and re-type the new video file name in step 5. kzbin.info/www/bejne/opDLZ6OXgal3kNE Not sure you are referring to this error though. Well maybe go thru' the tutorial and follow again please.
