Hello! I wanted to ask if there is anything extra you need to do when using pigment pastes. I keep seeing things on how to make them, but it seems like it would throw off the epoxy/ hardener ratio. Can you please explain this? Really trying to understand so I can try this method.

I’ve seen a lot of resin artists do this from 2018, thought it was something new. I’m confused when you say wait for it to drop, then you say you don’t want it to drop. You just said you didn’t want it to float? But you don’t want it to drop. 🤦♀️🤷♀️

Hey Julie.....love the gold edge. My main question is if the gold trim would wear off over time if worn as jewelry. I feel like the gold/silver/copper edges work on your coasters and trays because those items might not be so roughly/vigorously used. However, jewelry pieces will have a rough go whether from being worn and/or tossed in a jewelry box with other items. Just some thoughts. 🤔

The color scheme and texture of the pigments in these make me think more of fur than of feathers. Specifically the fur of a calico cat. You've made calico pendants!

I do love your heart job , the colors turned out beatiful . So I’ll try it tomorrow... can we add anything to thin the resin when it’s too thick or is there à resin you recommand ? Do you just use acrylic paint and alcohol ? You might have mentioned it but english is my 2nd language .....if i got it right you mix : acrylic paint ÷ alcohol and resin . How come the mixture is so thin ? I am a beginner in doing resin and I enjoy it . Thank you

I never used this technique but its beautiful thank you for sharing. One thing id like to share is when a mold isnt flat n it goes down deep whether its a diamond or sphere alcohol inks tend it go along the sides more n drop deeper than mold that flat on bottom like dog tags. Something ive noticed myself so maybe that can help you decide your next project, how you'd like to go about it n what mold to use. :-) thank you for the inspiration! I recommend getting a small heat gun for bubbles like the cheap round ones n when it heats up gor a few secs just tap the air ontop so it doesn't push resin out. Its lower than some guns n definitely lower than torching heat. Ive had great results so far.

Instead of throwing away your matte pieces, pour a thin layer of resin over them, makes them glossy. Also, you can't get the feather effect with alcohol inks, that's just the petri effect

I haven't gotten to the end yet, but looking at the gold "It isn't opaque." well, how about using the leafing pen or paint on the back? It would become opaque and add a lot of depth.

Hi Julie. I thought these turned out great. The see through isn't really see through. It has the gold sparkle! I thought they looked great with nothing on the back, but I could see your point about the white on the back. Doing that made the gold sparkle show up even more...
