Unfortunately, this is one of the best reasons for not being impatient while not being in a hurry as a motorist. It isn’t always worth it to try gain a minute or two while passing on a secondary road, especially on a bridge with nowhere else to go. More often than not, it ends up being deadly. Don’t try to be in a hurry while operating a motor vehicle so that you and other motorists can make it home safely. This sad incident could have been easily prevented.

Ive got that call and it shatters you, you get sick, you go into a state of disbelief and shock, it sucks and can most the time be prevented if people just calm down and drive safe. I have people pass me all the time and i just end up right behind them further down the road at a red light or a traffic jam, so it never even helped them get ahead anyway, risk a ticket or your life and others for nothing. And i usually go about 5mph above the limit so im moving quick enough that you should not need to ride my but or pass me like im going slow. How many more wrecks and deaths have to happen before our state widens these 2 lane roads? They're outdated for the traffic loads they carry. It's like they just don't care. Your 105 is identical to 205 connecting Terrell to Rockwall. It's a nightmare! You pass at your own risk because you have to go into the oncoming lane in order to pass just like rhis one. It's pathetic the way our state handles this. Sad 😢
@1982MCI3 жыл бұрын
Then don’t pass!!! It’s not your personal racetrack out there and those lanes are wide enough to safely navigate IF you follow common sense driving laws!!! Just because you want to drive fast and reckless isn’t a requirement for the state to idiot proof the roads for you!!! Follow the laws and you’ll get where your going just fine!
@kimineasttexas40903 жыл бұрын
@@1982MCI not all people are using it as a "personal racetrack" sometimes people go 40 or less when it's 60 mph. Others want to pass. It's just unsafe in this day and time to only have 1 lane each way. Back in the years of less people it was probably ok. They've been talking expansion on 205 for 30+ years. It's never happened. In that time both areas have experienced major growth. Rockwall is not a little country town anymore, it's a big city, as Terrell is doing the same now. In between housing developments have popped up everywhere. Common sense says a 2 lane road which connects 2 major cities is just not enough. They're state highways for God's sake.
@glennmcwilliams13 жыл бұрын
Your answer is to blame our government? That’s what is pathetic. The driver of the BMW appears to be the primary responsible party for this tragedy. How wide do we need to make all the bridges in this country to prevent self-centered drunk idiots and inattentive idiots from killing innocent people on our roads? Five lanes? Would that be enough?
@kimineasttexas40903 жыл бұрын
@@glennmcwilliams1 for this day and age 2 lanes on each side would be sufficient. Yes the BMW driver was at fault. But I hate to tell you but those people aren't going away. Why not make it safer for everone else? During morning and afternoon rush hour 205 is backed to a complete stop as far as the eye can see. It carries too much traffic for 1 lane. That's why I don't go on it then. I just feel sorry for the ones that have to take it. It's been outdated for 30+ years. They just tell people they're going to widen it just to shut them up. That's pathetic.

Another death by BMW. It seems to be an increasingly common situation on roads in the US... Come on people, leave a suitable following distance to the vehicle in front of you. If you can't see past the vehicle in front of you to get a decent picture of what is happening in front of them then you are far too close and you need to drop back. Having that picture can avoid you becoming the driver of the blue truck, drilling the back end of the white Equinox which is trying to avoid someone else's crash. If you're driving a car and hit a pickup or SUV, you may not be so lucky. A car can easily submarine under a larger vehicle and end up with you getting your head crushed or removed by the chassis/frame of that vehicle...
