@eddie reynoza. How do you know that alot of people are committing suicide this way. Is there statics showing that. It's not sickening, or selfish when someone commits suicide. They are in so much pain everyday. It's called, mental illness. Depression, anxiety, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder. I know, because my 31 yr old son took his own life, Aug 23/20. He had depression really bad because of his wife cheating on him. He had addiction issues. They feel that the world is better off without them. Mental illness is very serious. They don't do this out of selfishness, they are tormented about life every day. They don't show it. Sorry I went on, but unless you have lost a family member, or anyone you know to suicide. Man, if a little ol' Honda Civic did this much damage to a semi, he had to be going hella fast. Thus I'm surprised Abraham was able to switch lanes, yet not the higher seated truck with longer range of vision.
@mmarciniak2 жыл бұрын
Let’s be realistic. The damage to the semi is primarily due to consumption of the combustible components by fire and to rolling off the shoulder of the roadway and tearing of the undercarriage by the impact with the ditch. It doesn’t take that much for a semi to obliterate an automobile when each vehicle is only going 50 miles per hour, as the combined speed would be 100 miles per hour. So, no, the Honda was not necessarily going fast. It was simply traveling on the wrong side of the road. Let’s not be melodramatic here.
@GuruJSGamingIsFun2 жыл бұрын
It's a common misconception that the speed is the total of the 2 speeds (50 + 50 = 100) the speed of impact is still 50 miles per vehicle. Problem is that the lighter of the 2 vehicles also has to absorb a certain amount of kinetic energy of the heavier vehicle. In this case the Honda had to absorb it's own kinetic energy + almost all kinetic energy of the 18 wheeler. Even if the Honda survival space would have remained intact the energy on the body would have been to high to survive. Biggest cause of fatalities are broken neck and the secondary impact of ones brain and organs inside the skull and body. This is also why a modern car crumbles as much as possible while retaining the passenger cabine to dissipate as much energy so that the body has a lowest possible deceleration to prevent loss of life.
@mmarciniak2 жыл бұрын
@@GuruJSGamingIsFun You’re overthinking this issue. The damage to both vehicles is exactly the same as it would be if either vehicle was traveling at 100 mph and the other was stationary. The reason is what is called “moment of inertia.” If the truck is traveling 100 mph, then it will cause a certain degree of impact damage to the Honda followed by accelerating of the car backwards because the car has a relatively small “moment of inertia.” In the reverse situation, the truck would move very little and the full kinetic energy of the Honda would be transferred to the front of the truck. In that case, the high “moment of inertia” of the truck would meet with the relatively low kinetic energy of the Honda traveling at 100 mph. The speed of the two vehicles RELATIVE to one another is all that matters, not the speed of either vehicle relative to the ground, for example.
@Mdeaccosta2 жыл бұрын
It was an Accord. Not being nit picky, either. I hit a buck deer full on with my Accord and it was mostly cosmetic damage. At the 3:54 mark where you see the Honda's wheel spindle stuck in the fire engine tire right after that it shows the tire of the fire truck in a worn out dot violation condition that wasn't caused by running over road debris, it's just worn out.

That was the front pump from the car's transmission. It supposed to be INSIDE the transmission! Quite an impact indeed!

Ppl are always saying put spikes in the highway so you go the right way but that wont work emergency vehicles often have to drive on the weong side of the road i say install a chip in all cars that turns the engine off when the gps in the car informs the chip youre going the wrong way
