On his feet, was one of Messners problems keeping his head too far down? He kept getting yanked forward, and that would bring him down.

Is that ok to hold of his head gear like that @ 3:44

Good question, Sami. The rule states that, "Grasping of clothing, mat or ear guards by a contestant is prohibited." As with any rule, it is crucial to understand the intent in order to enforce it correctly. In this case, the rule was designed to prevent one wrestler from gaining an unfair advantage over the other by using the headgear as leverage. Since Jackson is simply exerting pressure against the headgear rather than pulling on it, I would personally not rule this a technical violation since no unfair advantage was gained. On the other hand, pay close attention to Messner's head as the action continues. You will notice that it is being pulled to the right. If caught early, this action can by stopped as "Potentially Dangerous" with no penalty. However, if the head were forced significantly further, it could potentially become an illegal Neck Wrench with a penalty point awarded to Messner.

@@MidwestWrestle I see, also I noticed that referee has tapped on Ashton's arm to let him know that it's over in order to avoid more strain on Messner's neck

@@samiryan214 Actually, that was purely coincidental. You can hear the timekeeper shout, "TIME! TIME!" shortly before the whistle and the shoulder tap, indicating that the match was being stopped due to the end of the period.

I don't think that's OK. It's OK to pull the guys ponytail though.

WOW.. the physical advantage is pretty evident. Ashton is definitely a much bigger guy(probably around 120lbs at least). I wonder how much time do they get after weigh- in and their actual match.

Usually I chalk this up to differences in build or growth development, some being more naturally muscular than others or even being older. More muscle tone can make someone look bigger even if they don't weigh more. But in this case, they don't look in the same weight class period.
