Africa has faced a lot of development challenges in the water and sanitation sector. To tackle these problems, governments, development partners, regional institutions, researchers, and others, continue to strive for solutions. These efforts have continued to ensure the achievement of global and continental goals, including SDG 6 and the African Union Agenda 2063 - the Africa we want. But more hands must be on deck if Africa must achieve its development goals. To contribute to ongoing efforts; to mobilise participation and action for change, AMCOW seeks to set up a news platform to help Africans tell their water and sanitation stories collectively.
Africa's Voice on Water (AVOW) is a continental news magazine promoting water and sanitation issues in Africa. The magazine will highlight the challenges and opportunities facing the water and sanitation sector, showcase best practices and innovations, and provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas and experiences. AVOW will be published quarterly and feature articles, interviews, and opinion pieces from experts, practitioners, and policymakers across the Continent.
Overall, the magazine aims at creating a convergent voice that portrays water and sanitation as cross-cutting priorities for social and economic development in Africa.
