Wow, I'm about to paint a lot of grass in the foreground of a painting and am very grateful for your video. I am an amateur painter, retired woman of 71 years and have successfully sold several paintings to date. However, I suffer from serious stress and have realised after watching your content, I seem to relax a lot. Not only do you teach me to paint but your calm way of showing how you work has a double positive impression on me which is amazing. Thank you so much Michael! Keep these videos rolling!

+Michael James Smith Hi Michael, I am struggling to get the very thin lines when painting grass. I have tried with small brushes like yours and are painting very carefully as you do in the video, but the lines don't get thin and smooth. I bought different brushes to test, but ends up with same result. Any tips?

Hello. Excuse-me for my surely stupid question but ... would you think it's possible to do the same with acrylics painting ? I know that acrylics could be used "like" oil paint but I suppose it is not exactly the same and I'm still not able to know the differences. I like your videos very much. I feel a lot of things when I watch your work

Similar effects can be achieved by using acrylic mediums (i.e. Slow dryers) but you have to bear in mind that acrylics and oils are different in nature, therefore not all techniques can be replicated exactly.

This is sort of off topic, but sometime when you have a little free time and are in need of grunt work, it would be great to have a play list of some of your favorite music artists. I've never heard most of the background music that you play, but I really enjoy it.

Hi there Michael. I am new to your channel. Would it be possible for you to do a video about when to use liquin and when to use thinner when painting in oil? Also when is painting dry requiring oiling out? Can you use thinner on top of a layer that has been thinned out with liquin? Does this layer need to be dry completely? Thank you

Sir Smith ... Love n respect ur videos. I've been catching up on the time lines and plan on joining your online school. In the meantime, I have a question. Do you ever create a "couch" or oil the canvas prior to applying the paints? I've purchased the paints on list and the Rosemary and Co brushes and now playing with technique. I find applying the paints quite odd, you might say. I noticed you do use medium and thinner now and then but not much. Am I doing something wrong? Or is just the Oklahoma environment? Lol Cheers.
