In this video I cover some winter chainsaw tips and demonstrate a chainsaw method that I use to fell small trees quickly. Since the trees are of a size that I can muscle down I don't need to use any equipment like a winch, skidder, tractor and any other device.
Disclaimer - This video is intended for entertainment and is not a how to video. The manner that I cut with my chainsaw in this video is not recommended for anyone else to use.

Spending time outdoors doing projects with various machines and tools - anything from cutting trees, firewood, clearing brush, milling wood, plowing snow, reviewing, repairing & fabricating equipment. Doing landscaping and maintenance on my forested property using my Kubota tractor.
And its not all work!! Gotta take time to play - after turning my pond into a skating rink, and a whole bunch more of outdoor activities.

Morning Paul! I like that technique for the small manageable trees. Also have some small cedars I could drop like that. Was not aware of the chain cutter angle, great tip to hear. I think my next chainsaw will be one with heated grips! Cutting in full luxury! Cheers, Alex

Good evening Alex and thank you. Heated handles are great for keeping snow and ice freezing up the handles making them slippery. Have a fantastic weekend!

Interesting technique Paul. I've never seen a tree cut like that without the face cut. Great tips too! Thanks for the video! -- J.Andre / Old Iron Acres

Good morning Paul ☕️ another information video. I did not know about the shutter position for winter and summer or changing the sharpening angle for winter. I have a Husqvarna 455 Rancher, when I head out to the garage I am going to check to see if it has the adjustable shutter feature. Thanks. I enjoyed the video. Have a great weekend, Ben 👍

Good evening Ben and thank you. I would be surprised if the Rancher didn't have a shutter. Glad you enjoyed the video. You too have a great weekend!

Good tip about the chain sharpening. It makes sense. I change to a hardwood blade for the winter on my sawmill but never thought about a change to the chainsaw. I’ve been cutting the small cedar the same way where they’re crowded like that. I didn’t see the point in the face cut. Cheers!

Thank you Brian. Excellent idea to change the sawmill blade to a hardwood one. Frozen wood is very different to cut, especially when it goes below -10 degrees. Have a good one!

Great tips, Paul!!! I was able to find a used Husqvarna chainsaw with heated handle bars. I'm looking forward to that this winter!

Thank you John. I totally forgot about the heated handles. Not many saws have them. There great to prevent snow / ice freezing up on the handles making them slippery. Have a great weekend and enjoy the Husky!

Great tips Paul. It was a similar process as your last video where you used the Kubota Power to pull them out, this time you used the Jelen Power to pull them out 😉💪🏻👍🏻. Have a great weekend Paul 🙋🏼‍♂
