He went to 7 plus years of college for this & have been doing this for years! Lets see you do this better then he did! It’s choppy due to he’s reading points off of a paper & he’s mixing it all up to confuse the jury. It’s a great defense tactic that lawyers use. Plus, he pauses to let his words sink in for the jury & judge. Also he is nervous (you can tell by a few of his movements). I’d LOVE to see you do better than he did!

@@J.A.7 don't be sorry, I completely understand. It feels very familiar to the chris watts case, except this is probably worse since the whole trailer park is filled with the same story of drug abusing parents and neglected children. I'm glad the laws are strict where u live, but that case with that poor women does make it very difficult and a much more complex situation. Maybe anything containing opiates, such as sesame seeds need not be eaten during pregnancy, maybe give every pregnant woman information to avoid these situations. As sad as this story is, I think more good is being done since at the end of the day. I think that these parents need to also spend time in a rehab or do some jail time, for putting their child's life at risk.
@meredithpase4 жыл бұрын
The one thing that really stood out to me was in the interview when Chris said he went to look in the woods because, “when somebody’s done something wrong, they go in the woods, or that’s the first thing I thought anyways...” HIS OWN WORDS. I really thought the prosecution should’ve focused more on that.. they had evidence that when he beat Matt, that’s where he went... and he got away with that... so next time he did something wrong, he went right back to the same spot... I think he had hid the baby earlier (before the 7:41am message) and then messaged his “Unc” saying he was “wigging and tripping” wanting to get out of there so that when Cortney woke up, he wouldn’t be there and would have an alibi... when no one would come get him, he went back “to sleep” and then when Cortney woke up and started calling people to find Caliyah, she was told to hang up and call 911, which freaked him out... so he took off to the woods, hid her better, and put Mats shoes out to try to set him up... only he didn’t know he was in jail... he took so long to get back because he didn’t want to just come straight back from the woods, he walked the whole way down to Henderson and up the highway to make “looking for the baby” more reasonable.. plus I think he wanted someone to see him, and say he was asking if they had seen the baby, which is why he stopped and talked to skittles...

Right. As a mother of young children myself, you NEVER leave your child/children especially your infants willingly, and knowingly in the care of someone under the influence of drugs omg especially like METH or alcohol. Idk what the hell she was thinking, and plainly she wasn't. She wasnt sleep after doing meth, not being up all night with her baby, after her own cousin testified thats what they was doing the night before, was meth, her, and mcnabb, she just wanted to sleep, selfishly. Its really like you almost couldnt expect something NOT to happen, you know. I cant even believe that detestable, vile, scum, liquefied that innocent, defenseless baby's brains for christ sakes. THAT WAS HIS OWN DAUGHTER!! He had no business being around that baby! And Im happy AF he got 100 yrs for it! Casey Anthonys case was circumstantial too but, every American knew she did it, and she just walked. Its about time these low lifes finally pay, and get locked away from society like they need to be. If he could do that to his own 15 day old baby? No ones kids are safe. Period.

While the mother (his client) was unmoved. She even seemed annoyed at times.

Her attorney is terrible..disorganized, doesn’t listen to witnesses, barely ask his own questions, and just pretty much just piggy backed on McNabbs lawyers statements. The officers/investigators really moved slow on collecting evidence and following up with all parties on processing the evidence. Is it possible that the 2yr old caused the death and the parents panicked and hid the baby. The baby had been undressed its sleeper was taken off, a tee shirt sleeve was put on its head almost as if a child was trying to redress the baby. The 2yr old could have dragged that baby around for hours before the parents woke up. It could have fell on the baby head causing the head trauma. The woman that did the autopsy said that there was leaves and dirt on body. This could have come from the 2yr old dragging it around on floor. The weight of a 2 yr old falling on a newborns head could cause alot of damage. I dont know why, but I just cant stop thinking about it
@reginaldbrown35495 жыл бұрын
Ur not alone with that theory I said that when I first heard about the case and yes a 2yrs old can do this type of damage to a 14day old newborn a newborn head is softer then a slice of white bread delicately then a bowl of gelatin and one time my daughter 1yrs old climbed in his newborn twins sister crib and was trying to pick one of the girls up and hug and kiss them but was squeezing the baby neck like a bear hold hug and he was hugging her to hard and kissing her to ruff causing her to gasping for air could have caused her to stop breathing and the police and hospital would have for sure said a adult stranger her but the 1yrs did it trying to show his little sister love like his mother do my daughter would let him give his twin sister's hugs and kisses so he didn't know better and my daughter just left them in the next room to go make bottles it was feeding time for the twins and she didn't know that the 1yrs old knew how to climb in the twins crib so shit happen but however if sumthing like that happen don't be afraid to report it or take a child to the hospital never cover up accidents because honesty go along way people's and that's so sad if that happen and the parents went through great length to cover up a accident.

Sara Hendrix What was the motive. News flash! Daddy dearest is a violent sadist. He lives to get high on methamphetamine. Which triples his natural meanness. There was no real motive. A violent thug shot up, and couldn't deal with a tiny baby who was crying for a bottle, so he beat her, fracturing her skull in many places, and socked her in the mouth, causing her little teeth, which were up inside her guns, to fall out. Her head had been beaten with such force that her BRAIN HAD TURNED TO LIQUID. There was no motive other than he just wanted to doze off. Oh, and don't forget that he hit her so hard on her mouth that he SPLIT HER UPPER PALATE. I don't believe in hell. I think he'll get attacked in prison at some point like Dahmer did, hopefully he'll die and rot. And no one will remember he ever existed.

Stop telling the jury what and how to think, stop making civilians be the jury then teaching then how to think to get your client off for full payout. . Let me not keep writing a long comment so I'll say this last power comment, The jury as I have been part of the jury before, I know I'm there to find how how guilty the defendants are and not how innocent the may be, wake up, they have been charged by people more professional at crimes and suspects than yourself unless you are a cop/lawyer and are off work doing jury service. No drug head wants to hear a baby crying constantly. The father wanted more money for a fix or the mother and one of them said no no, we need to save money for baby food etc, one of them murdered the baby or try to hurt baby over time so problem solved, no more baby to pay for, more drugs to get high. I can see right through this story. And when the cops have nothing to go on it totally mean the parents done it or the cops did it, which one? I'm sure it's not the cop's, cops get a bad rep but they're whom I would leave my kid with for the night rather than even a friend or someone in my town I've know all my life. Ourselves may not be nice at times and you expect me to give my child who doesn't have to be nice, cops get paid to be nice, break the law and they're allowed to get angry and it also put a their lives at risk when suspects act the fool. All the child deaths to date have been done by the parents, I think it's less likely for a stranger to hurt a child than own parents, the stranger does it only when parents have paid the stranger and even then the stranger is just moving the already dead body. . Bell's defense attorney brought out a good point about the baby good health up to the death, however, she didn't have the baby most of that time it had only been there since the day before found so she can not be said to have taken good care of the child when it was someplace else

They really don't have any evidence, the only thing they have done is not being a parent and protectin that baby

Agreed BUT personally I would never have my children around someone who is a meth user. Not even once!!! People who use meth are crazy! That drug makes their brain rot. Users don’t sleep and being sleep deprived causes a person to get paranoid, hallucinate, mood swings, they get aggressive... PLUS THE DRUGS DO ALL OF THAt TOO. And more!!! How can you trust a methhead in your home? Around your children?? How? Especially when we all know what METH does to a persons mind and behaviour!!! They go nuts. They literally LOSE THEIR MINDS. So having all these methheads around the children most defiantly put the kids IN DANGER!!! And the mother did nothing to protect her children bcuz she was a methhead herself. And had all those ‘people’ coming and going and smoking meth in her home where the children lived!

What I would like explained is if the child was only 2 weeks old,and at the 1st doctors appointment, it was SEEN AND NOTED BY DR., that the newborn infant had a foot turned inward,and small bluish patch on her face- why in the HELL was that one week old child not IMMEDIATELY put in protective custody by DHS or police called and the couple and baby held at doctors office to be questioned and have child removed THAT DAY.This was obviously injuries to that baby who was a helpless NEWBORN ONE WEEK OLD BABY- who can't walk so there should be NO way that child's foot was able to be injured and turned inward.The child at that age cannot even grasp objects to have hit itself or dropped a toy on her face.So the doctors office notes OBVIOUS child abuse ALREADY- doesn't even address it with the parents and sent that baby home only to be killed a week later.wtf ...that right there is a failure for mandatory reporting system required by law of ALL healthcare providers. Smh. And gotta wonder how its possible the other child hasn't been abused or can't help fill in the blanks of wtf happened.from their "friends" testifying about what the trailer was like for a child already living in it,active meth users fighting and coming and going from that home,yeah don't tell me that mom gave a shit about what was going on to keep the older safe even before she had this baby who lived a total of 14 days.if that "dad" can beat on her and push her down pregnant, you think he gives a shit about the baby after she was born?or the mom to think "gee he's beating the shit out of me in front of my kid,he's shoved me down when I'm close to giving birth- maybe I better take myself and my children out of this environment until he gets help.Disgusting excuse for parents.I'm in recovery- I never EVER allowed people coming and going when I was actively using or let my house become a meth flop house.once you have kids your priorities change.or they sure as hell should- hope she loses custody of the other child she has too. Infuriating people like this are allowed to even procreate.

I like Bell's attorney. I thought he showed a lot of heart for Baby Caliyah during the trial..wiping away tears, looking away when the autopsy pics were shown..He had an uphill battle with all the testimony about her meth use. He did the best he or any lawyer could do with the client he had. She IS guilty of being a LOUSY Drug addicted Mother..But with all the people that claimed to be so concerned/care about the welfare of the children, why did NOT ONE pick up the phone & call DFACS (even anonymously)? I think there is plenty of blame to go around. Her penalty is too much..She should pay a price but that sentence is ridiculously long for being a bad Mother. I still believe that serving a couple of years followed by an extensive inpatient drug program SHE could be a productive Citizen. She could actually use this horror to the benefit of others in addiction. Let Caliyah's death not be in vein. It IS the world we live in... Addiction/Broken Families/Violence..a very very sad time. R.I.P. Precious Baby Caliyah..

They are both guilty because neither one of them are fit parents or had the babies best interest with smoking meth in the house where the baby lived

I thought he was right on as her attorney by even saying she wasn't a perfect mom but the main point he argued is a true fact she didn't kill the baby the evidence clearly says that McNabb did. We all make mistakes and are not perfect and I am not declaring that she was a great mom but she didn't kill the baby and no way in hell does she deserve life or it in prison.
