"Sinigang" is traditionally cooked with raw, unripe tamarind (green flesh inside) bunched in a piece of "katsa" to keep the seeds and hard coating from spreading while cooking. It is discarded when the cooking is done and the sour taste of the tamarind has been extracted. Now some smart guys have thought of making powder from the raw, unripened, tamarind to cook "sinigang," and make the whole process easier. So people today simply use the "sinigang" powder to do it. From the description of the ingredients used in the video and the color of the mixture poured into the dish, I think tamarind paste from ripe tamarind (brown and sweet enough to make a candy and no longer that sour) was actually used. Thus, the "different" taste.

I feel so bad I don't even use tamarind or lime whenever I cook Sinigang. I just put in the Knorr Sinigang mix and that's it. Meanwhile, Ilwoo is out here making it all from scratch and he hasn't even visited the Philippines yet!! I once cooked sinigang without using knorr mix or any msg ingredients. I used plums instead of tamarind and it turned out really good too. So for those Filipinos in the countries where tamarind or sinigang mix aren't available, you can try plum or any sour fruits that are available in your country.

I can still remember how handsome Jung Ilwoo was, I knew him because I watched cinderella and 4 knights. When our family went to a tourist location in Korea last 2019, we met him there, I think he was filming a drama because he was wearing a traditional dress like a king. It was not intentional to met him, it just happens to see him while were on tour and he just got there at the filming location. I was happy obviously cuz I’ve been a fan of k-drama for years now and to see an actor in real life, it was memorable that I still can’t get over it and I always remember that day whenever I see him in pictures/videos like this. I think even though they mention that they were really just friends, in my opinion they look good together tbh. And as someone who’s from Palawan, I also recommend Palawan than Boracay. Cuz Palawan is more peaceful and nature friendly (beach and islands) than Boracay which is more of night parties and beach. But it still depends on one’s preference.

ah 2019, he must be filming "Haechi", because that's his most recent historical drama if you met him, that meant you & your family were at Yongin at that time (and not at Everland)? and at Yongin there are 2 locations usually used by traditional profuctions: -Korean Folk Village (an educational theme park used up until the mid-2000's) -Dae Jang-geum Park aka MBC Dramia (as MBC is their usual client, as testified by their historical dramas Dong-yi, Moon Embracing The Sun, Ruler, The King Loves, etc...as well as Agust D's "Daechwita" MV) I bet you were at the 2nd location
