I used to ride one of these at midnight going to work... grooming ski runs...6-7 man crew...two cars required....we operated the lift ourselves (with a guy at the top drive station). Normal spacing was 30 seconds between cars. One night after a heavy snowfall I pushed the first car out and then ran/pushed and jumped into the second one.....the two cars were only 30-40 feet apart....the look from the guys in the first car looking back was hilarious!!! On a couple of the long spans both cars started dragging on the ground !!! (Thank you Mueller for the great design of the sloped bottom sections of the cars) Those tracks we left in the snow were noticed by management during the morning staff upload and we were in deep shit....but they couldn't do without us so nothing came of it other than threats of firings if it ever happened again!!! Another time on the same lift... working afternoon shift we would load while public was still downloading in the spring...in the spring on a sunny afternoon it got awful hot in those cars....one afternoon we went to load and the next car in line was a "transporter"....basically just a flat deck with no sides or roof meant to move bulky cargo up/down the mountain (just a 3 inch pipe connecting the grip to the platform)....the four of us looked at each other and smiled...we jumped on the thing ...we had to argue with the lifties to push us out but we were the "crazies that drove around the mountain in the dark" so they pushed out and we went up the mountain sitting on the deck, feet dangling in the open air....waving at the customers downloading in those overheated gondola cars. We got major grief from management for that one as well. Fun times! (Whistler Mountain in the 1970s)

Irgendwie find ich die Müllerklemme ja genial, vor allem das Geräusch bei der Zahnstangenpassage

neat gondola....the old tried and true Mueller "slope and rack" grip system....with an added conveyor system so you don't need people to push the gondolas around the stations.....I like it

Ropeways are not popular with England sadly. A little more so in the United States but that's only because that is more mountainous. England has very, very few, to be frank too little ropeways. I want to change that. Save some lifts from Europe that are going to be replaced, rebuild them in new locations for tourists to have the right to experience different lifts to modern mass produced CRAP from Doppelmayr-Garaventa/Leitner-Poma-HTI Group/Bartholet...

There's another Muller gondola in Taxco, Mexico. That gondola is not to be replaced.
