It's so funny from an European perspective, Americans complaining about guns who were just outdated at the time but were considered normal for most of their armies only some decades before. Actually Europe scrapped their arsenals of any crap they had. As for my own research the Royal Saxon army got rid of their Thouvenin rifles from Belgium, which they gave to the US in 1862 - noone ever was happy with these rifles.😂
