Still like the modern design of the 8th gen Civics. They have aged really well, and still looked like the classic Honda Civic..small, sleek and futuristic looking. If you can find an 8th Gen in good condition, snag it up!

I’ve had three 8th gens over the years, two coupes and an FA5, which is how I found your channel. I’ve had a ‘23 sport touring with a manual for three weeks now and I love it. These new civics feel so accord like inside and are definitely the best gen since 8th! Gotta say tho the 8th gens still hold up design wise. Very ahead of their time, especially when you look back at what a Corolla or Elantra looked like in ‘06.

My 8th was my first Honda, first manual. It now has 200k while being FBO and tuned for half of that. Still pulls like new. Just normal maintenance. Replaced my stock clutch at 190k. Haven't touched any internals. Just the basic preventive maintenance.

@@NAUS2Kthe only thing I don't like about my 8 gen is the plastic dash accumulating heat like crazy. I'm gonna put xpel film ceramic plus next week in my windshield. Supposed to cut 98 of heat.

I like the silver paint on your 8th Gen better than the Lunar Silver I have on my 2018 coupe. Has a lot of depth. Seems like Honda/Acura design language is all long hood/short deck now. I hope you'll discuss shifter feel on a future video.

@timswanson2431 all the civics will be marked up initially, but they are easily removable. They gladly took them out for me, no hesitation, and I live in Los Angeles county.

@NAUS2K Oh, without a doubt, these cars are slow and ain't winning any races. But I'm pretty sure a lot of people out there would like to see what the 2.0 manual is capable of. 0-60 is a good way to measure highway merging as well.

It might be underwhelming, but could you do a video of the new car at a track? I think it would be interesting to see how well it can get around a track since some people, myself included, might want to take their car to a track just for fun.
@NAUS2K
@NAUS2K Жыл бұрын
I do not plan to track the car being that this is going to be my commuter I plan to put 200k+ miles on. Wouldn’t make sense financially to prep this for the track when I already have the s2k setup for that. However I’d think the K20 Would handle the track better as far as not overheating and taking the abuse

The 11th sedan rear is 5” longer. You left out that the water nozzles are now built into the wipers. The 8th gen bumper had previously changed from the mail slot design to the ported style in 2009. The 8th gen windshield inside was murder to clean, same for my 2013 Fit.
@NAUS2K

I cover these points more in future videos, stay tuned for a more in depth cargo review video where I talk about the 11th sedan and it’s advantages. Unfortunately for me there is no 11thsedan with a manual trans and no sunroof

Once it started creeping onto the body I knew it was a battle I would never win. I wanted to get rid of it before I looked like a total shitbox. Once it hits the painted areas on the body it spreads quick. I fluid film undercoated mine as well for many years
@LoveLikeaHurricane
@LoveLikeaHurricane Жыл бұрын
i agree with the separation of clutch and brake reservoir. On the S2000, it wears quickly on the clutch, and I suck up the fluid from there at least once an oil change and put in fresh fluid. I wonder if same can be done even though it is just all one reservoir. Suck up old fluid from brake reservoir, then just add fresh fluid and bleed from the Slave cylinder to fresh it up.
@NAUS2K
@NAUS2K Жыл бұрын
Yeah just seems like a massive waste of fluid. The clutch fluid reservoir was always so tiny so it was very efficient to bleed the system

They should have kept the HUD-style spedometer from the 8th gen. You dont have to take your eyes off the road for even a second to see how fast your going, since its always directly in your fov.

Save up as much as you can to put down, finance as little as possible, and never pay a markup. If you can’t make that work then a new car is a financial mistake !

save and bring "cash/check". Then you have the power to walk or buy. Thats how i got my Type R at MSRP. I even said I'll just fly home if when I arrive and the car is not to my liking. You take charge and not bend over.
