Which is cool to do when you can afford a 12k exhaust on a cheap car and then pay for a lawyer to handle it properly but for the average american, specifically those in a lower socioeconomic status, that's typically not going to work out in your favor. When you're working every waking hour and literally won't be able to pay your rent if you go to court and miss work, it's a serious hassle at best and a life changing problem just so "his city" can extort money from someone when he was blatantly stretching, distorting, and misrepresenting the facts of the laws he implied were broken, when in fact none were. So, I'm all for being patient, compliant, and using good manners when you're definitely in the wrong; in this case, the officer was wrong and he still gets paid. The defendant, looses time and money, best case scenario.

because he's going to fight it anyway. notice how poliet and compliant he is, never disagreeing or asking a question except about the third brakelight which is a different case. if they explain a law to you and you ask a question about it that's fine. even simply asking how fast you were going could trigger the cop into thinking you're trying to be a smartass, especially if you're recording him. I don't think eff will pay for this ticket, so there is no point in arguing with the cop it might make things worse and the cop is not going to change his mind. this is exactly how you handle these kinds of situations, especially if you're not white. the only part I question is "I'mma go ahead and give you the ticket" "aight appreciate it" ... idk maybe he was speaking his mind the ticket creates content for him so maybe he really appreciates it

I agree with Maurice it's subjective and not an admission of guilt. It could mean getting mighty close to the speed limit. All it really admit is he was traveling faster than he can walk.
@wilbrown72473 жыл бұрын
@@DavidStrchld hey if it were me and I had said "yes sir", I might try to argue that too, after the fact. But I would NEVER agree outright with anything a cop said I did. In this case it's the cops definition of "high rate of speed" that was agreed to.
@DavidStrchld3 жыл бұрын
@@wilbrown7247 I don't see it as after the fact, I hope a judge would not either. It was just what is it, an indeterminate speed that is higher than a low rate of speed. I still contend it means nothing in court.

I got pulled over one time in my Bronco because “he heard my pipes” and it sounded like I was speeding from two streets over (I wasn’t, the truck was just loud). The officer said “you know I could write you a ticket for prudent speeding!?” I replied with “so you are going to write me a ticket because you think I might have been speeding?” He gave me my stuff back and told me to slow it down. I knew I could prove that I wasn’t speeding because there was not enough road to get over the speed limit in that truck from where I took off, and I’m pretty sure he knew it too.

yea that's totally not true. cops are trained and they can visually estimate your speed being too high. And yes that proof stands up in court. I took it to court and the judge asked the officer how he determined I was speeding. The officer said he could tell by the tone of my exhaust I was speeding. I then told the judge 5k rpm in first gear and 5k rpm in 5th gear sound the same but my speeds would be drastically different. I explained I just pulled away from the light, which I did, and was going probably 25 mph. The judge threw the ticket out. The cop looked pissed. Lol.
