I used your video for my class assignment, and it was easy to follow along. This is the 2nd time I've used one of your videos for an assignment. Thank you.

Hi, thanks for the video. I need your help. In my production environment I want to use wsus server only for my servers (40 servers) . 1. How do you think I should group the servers on wsus? I was thinking of grouping by OS.. CRITICAL SERVERS, server 2012, server 2016, server 2019.. Or is there a better way you would revommend? 2. I will create the OU in AD according to the groups listed above and use client side targeting. How would you recommend auto updates to be configured? I was thinking download but let me choose to install for the critical servers, but what about the other groups? If you could tell me the way you do it in your production environment that will be great. Thank you

Can this be done in a single server, for example. Install this on Domain Controller?

It can be done.

At 21:37 you mention the server cleanup wizard. Is that new to Server 2016? I don't think I have that on my WSUS server at home (which is Server 2012 R2)..... Never mind. I just discovered we have it here at work on a Server 2008 R2 machine. So I must have it at home, too. My bad. Looks like a neat tool. I need to start using it. Your videos are great, man. Keep making them. ;-)

Is that a modified desktop background to show the information in the top right of your desktop, or is that a program?

hi, I am not a computer geek so my question might seem a bit dumb to you. Ihave a problem with my laptop that has run out of space to install the windows updates. It only has 32gb ssd no Hdd. I heard that with WSUS you could get windows updates installed on an external HDD. I have downloaded wsus offline 1102 and clicked on update generator.exe. It download a load of files which I copied to my external HDD. How do I get wsus to install my window updates on this external HDD. thanks
@NLBSolutions7 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, first there are no dumb questions. Running out of space on C because of Windows updates is a common issue nowadays. What I suggest is you go and buy a bigger SSD, ask a friend (IT knowledgeable) or you can try to install a Windows 10 (or any other OS) on that new SSD and then copy over all your information from the current one. Then replace the 32GB with the bigger and you should be good to go. Installing WSUS and downloading updates on external HDD will not work.
