​@@Aidankiwi well they had just been relegated not long & players stuck by their contracts unlike now where they abscond & don't take responsibility for being relegated. Some players did move if a big offer came in & they can buy 3 new players with potential.

About a thousand ...which was much more than most clubs would bring to Stamford Bridge in those days ..My mate was a Wolves fan ..he went there..The coach he was on was attacked..A very dangerous place to go to in those days...

@@zinzanzut1 Yes indeed, the 70's was a scary time. As a Villa fan, I came within an ace of being attacked outside Goodison on 30/1/1979 after the match, very threatening and frightening, felt terrified but managed to sprint to safety. Only 60-70 Villa fans went there that night and when we went 1-0 up, I looked across from the halfway line and no one jumped up on the away terrace - not surprising with around 1,000 scousers for company!
