I admire the people of Appalachia so much! Moving forward one day at a time w/an amazing spirit. I am very happy they had a great turn out and nice weather.

Please tell me that’s not a “tour bus” taking tourists thru a demolished past tourist attraction?

It is, but as a local relief fundraiser. There was also a local vendors' Christmas market. Locals need an economy. The people attending and touring have the best of intentions. Imho.

I was there and road a bus around 3pm. It was Open House for Chimney Rock. Driven car loads of Helene donations to Saluda, Black Mt, SW VA, and today, Asheville. The amount of destruction in the entire region is absolutely unbelievable.

Very smart way to make money so they can rebuild. What little help they got from Fema if any was a drop in a bucket. This is very resource resourceful

I rode a bus after 3pm. I've driven carloads of Helene donations to families in need from Saluda, Black Mt, SW VA, Rutherfordton and today Asheville. The amount of destruction is just unbelievable. It will be quite a while before any sense of normalcy returns to WNC.
