It uses 25% spec. And we time it in a way that after we do our hammer or chally spec, we instantly regen and gain extra spec. E.g. if you look at nylo boss we do scythe + chally and then instantly regen to 75% which means we could uses zcb if it goes range. W/o preaching after chally we would be at 70spec at have to wait 30s to regen 10%spec to get a zcb. 30s is pretty much how long nyloboss fight takes

Shadow can't be a replacement for sang, because it's not good for waves. Shadow would only be viable on mages because for it to be good you must have a lot of mage switches. Sang is 4t which means after 2 sang attacks you win 2ticks that can be used to get an extra blowpipe/dart hit during range phase. With shadow you will never get that hit. Below is expected dmg dart = 15.73 sang = 19.88 total_sang = bp + 2 x sang = 51.9 shadow = 27.41 total_shadow = 2 x shadown = 54.82 Shadow requires 1 extra invy slot which means we would have to bin something. It is only slightly better compare to sang + dart and the same compared to sang + blowpipe. Blowpipe also has uses at maiden/nylo waves, so it would be a better option. Also we are not playing for mage bosses, if you get more than 2 mage phases, it's a reset 99% of the time.
