I'm totally new to CAD and I'm trying to get my head around how it all works. Thanks for posting these videos (especially the ones in Onshape) as they give a really good insight on how to use the software and also how to model more complex parts. I honestly wouldn't have know where to start with some of the things you've designed in your videos so it's been fun watching you and seeing how it's done. Please post more, they're very educational. :-)

I liked the video. Very good pace. The pauses in your speech gave me time to digest. It was nice and useful to see how you overcome some minor difficulties, for example, when making constraints. I am looking forward to learn from you more. Thank you Wolfgang!

Thank you for the video. I was trying to use your technique to Extrude a circle on an angle. I failed. Trying to move myself from a Thingy Verse user to real CAD. There is a lot to learn.

Would it be easy to draw a line of a specific length, add mu curves, transform the line into a cylinder / tube but still retain the length?

Wolfgang Walden . Super !

Classic example of "rendering" geometry that looks like an exhaust manifold. This is not how one would/should "design" an exhaust manifold model in CAD; rendering is not geometric design modeling. At a minimum the Part Studio geometric should contain entities that represent the two interfaces of the manifold interfaces with: exhaust port openings on the target engine and location of the interfacing end of the exhaust tail pipe. Creating an environment that includes/expresses as much of the geometric requirements as possible in the CAD model is always the best way to begin a design modeling project. Learning techniques to do this (context modeling) in the CAD tool is probably the most important thing to master.

Yes and No. This is showing a technique to get a shape in a cad program. From here he would go into the create drawing section and he can dimension it all he wants in there.
