It took me too long to realize the "Only my husband knew that, so i guess that make him you" line wasnt a test to see if this was odysseus, its was Penelope telling odysseus that he isnt a different person like hes been saying to her, only her husband knew that, so i guess you ARE my husband

That sound pretty, but sadly... no, in the book, she really didn't recognize him bc (like in the song) say that he change a lot, so, that's why the test, and tbh she has a point, 20 years it's a lot xD in fact, only his dog recognize him, no one else

@@MangekyoS.So while there still is a test, I think the context has changed. I see it as more her testing his devotion and to see if there still is a bit of her husband that she knew in him. Once she realizes that there is, the line “Only my husband knew that. So I guess that makes him you” is her way of reassuring him. Now that’s just my interpretation, so take it with a grain of salt

@ryanepley3180 Nope, the challenge it's the same in the book and in the song, and it's for the same porpuse, for see if it's really him, she said that in fact, that the test it's bc only Ody know abaut the tree

@ The test is the same, but I will disagree that the purpose is the same as the book. Mainly due to the fact that we don’t know if Ody was disguised as a beggar. In the book Ody and Penelope interact while he is disguised and it’s that conversation that lead her to do the challenge. In the Epic universe we do not know if this is the same case since Epic is not a 1 for 1 retelling(Ex. Scylla and Charybdis being separate, the mutiny being much more dramatic, and Athena and Ody having a falling out)
