Tried this ferry on this route with my car earlier this year. Good price and great service and the journey exceeded all my expectations. Early evening departure and morning arrival is a great efficient way in saving sleeping time and accommodation cost. Onsen being a bonus. Strongly recommended.

I always like to imagine what it feels like to wander around the ship at night, the slight rocking, the quiet hush of background noises, dimmed lights. Reminds me of when I was a kid and I would just wander around the trains I was on at night, exploring the different cars, seeing what nighttime was like. So cozy.

I was reminded of something when I saw the map and saw Osaka and Kobe When I was in the Army and going through AIT in 1967 and early 1968 we had 2 Japanese American's One of them's family was from Osaka the other's family was fron Kobe evey night they would yell out Osaka then the other would say Kobe They both went to Viet-Nam and I happy to say they both made it back home Every time I watch these Video's I think of those 2 guys and get a laugh.

Thank you for another ferry trip! I’ve been watching for years, but I am still fascinated by the Japanese ferries bc they look so beautiful compared to the ones we have in the US (not including those that travel to/from Alaskan ports). That curry was bland because they watered it down (maybe to stretch it out to accommodate the high school group?) - as soon as you dipped your spoon into it, I thought it looked more thin and soup like, not at all like a rich curry! The Royal Suite looked spacious and comfortable! The balcony was perfect for your trip. The food did appear to be downsized and a bit more pricey than before. Did they have desserts for supper or breakfast? The curry dish didn't have anything else to it like beef or veggies and I was thinking it was watered down too. But, it was a relaxing excursion ❤

That does not look like a fish cake lol but an octopus tentacle. I have had octopus and it tasted like tuna. I wonder what this tasted like, with chewy texture? Meal included would have been a nice perk for the Royal Suite. Then you could have had dessert. Too bad no one was awake to take your picture in a captain's coat and hat in front of the ship. Games lol two claw is worse than the three claw ones. The little towel was a cute souvenir though. Shrinkflation and bad (cheaper) recipes is a thing now. Too bad. But your cabin was very nice. Thank you for sharing the trip.

Nowadays, octopus is sometimes cooked sous vide (in a sealed packet in an 80C water bath for 5 hours, typically), and this is supposed to make it surprisingly tender. I haven’t tried it that way myself.
