Could’ve, should’ve, the point is, it is never too late to change your mind and do the right things for you and your kids. This goes beyond just the mob life, there is a father and partner in this relationship who is more absent than he is present. His kids aren’t happy and he is unaware or don’t care or too busy to see it because he’s rarely home. Danny, at such a young age, is learning already how to really hide how do you feel just so that he does not rock the boat.

Fans wanted them back together. Its seem they overlooked the fact that this would happen since Sam has changed, now that she has kids. Sam also wanted her husband back so she went back to Jason until reality hits. You live and learn. Jason is also to blame in this as well. He needs to play catchup and realize he can't continue to live his life like he did before lest he'll lose his family. If he wants his family, then he'll need to make some changes

@@mayfelias4453 it just an assessment. Dont take it to heart. And its GH, so you never know what they will do with Sam, Jason or Drew if hes brought back. They could go back in doing the same old, same old. To be honest, I've lost interest in Drew and Sam's relationship. That ship has sailed when Sam cut Drew loose because he wasnt Jason. Who knows if he'd take her back and what would Drew be like. I wouldn't want Drew to play second fiddle to Jason. I also care even less for Sam and Jason's relationship before Steve left and after the kids. To be honest, I'm more interested in Jason and Drew. Plus, Id like interested in seeing Jason in another relationship like we have seen with Sam over the years.

Danny tells her that he feels sad that he doesn’t always get to spend enough time with his father, and Sam’s idea to fix that issue is to tell Jason to not come back so Danny won’t have any time with his father? How does that even make any sense? Like I would understand if she had given Jason a proper talk about how Danny feels and tell him that he needs to make changes in his life for Danny and Scout. That is perfectly logical to try and fix things for her kids. But just telling Jason to leave? She is literally using Danny’s feelings as an excuse to react the way she wants to instead of doing what is best for Danny, because how is telling Jason to not come back going to make Danny feel better? It’s going to make Danny feel like it’s his fault that he can’t have his father.

How would that make any difference. Jason is rarely home per Danny. They cannot make plans as a family to do things because Jason is unavailable, and for the little time that he is present, there is so much uncertainty because he could be just up and gone any minute. Danny is basically saying that he and Scott have a father who is unavailable, he feels neglected, he can’t even have friends home because of his dad. His dad leaves so regular and often, yet he’s too afraid to ask him where he’s going. Tell me, which part of any of this sounds healthy? Heck, Jason is never home so him not returning won’t make a difference. That is how bad things have gotten, and Jason has not a clue. How is that possible?

Sam is upset and rightfully so. Jason is an adult. She doesn't need to spell it out to Jason that his constantly leaving or flaking on his kid affects the kid. I'd still rather Sam ask him to leave and get his prorities together than to continue this. Then, Danny or Scout feel like theyre never good enough for Jason or they develop a habit of doing stuff to get his attention. Or find someone like Jason. Sam said enough. If Jason is smart and wants to keep his family, make it seem like he cares about Danny and have a good relationship with his son then he knows he needs to make some changes.

I am a longtime Jasam fan but it was different accepting that Sam wasn't Jason's first priority when it was just the two of them versus now where kids are involved. When is the last time Jake and Danny had father son time? I didn't think I'd ever say this but luckily Jake has Franco as a father figure whereas Danny has Jason the part time dad. I think it's pretty different being an enforcer's significant other than a kingpin. Jason does most of the dangerous strenuous stuff while Sonny just stands there and flicks them🤣 This sucks but Sam is being a good mother by considering how the mob life is affecting her kids. She wouldn't be if she didn't consider the dangers hell even Carly sent Morgan away to keep him safe as a child which did work cuz nothing happened to him as a kid versus Michael's bullet to the head, Krissy almost getting blown up by a bomb and Joss's kidnapping by Claudia. I know Sam knew what she was getting into when she got involved with Jason but the idea versus the reality of your child being collateral damage for being with a mobster are so different. I'm just wondering why it always has to be Jason? Doesn't Sonny have other henchmen especially when he thought Jason was dead, he was still running his organization without him so why can't he delegate more.

In universe the answer would be that apparently Jason is the only competent mobster in Sonny's organization. Out of universe would be that they would have to pay another actor, and they don't want to do that.

And here’s the sad thing, this is a choice that Jason is making. A lot of the stuff that he is doing are things that he could easily delegate to other people in the organization, but he doesn’t. He did not spare a thought for Danny who went upstairs and expected his dad to be down there when he returned. He left right in the middle of a conversation with Sam, one in which Sam was struggling with all sort of emotion and he just up and left, no hesitation. He returned home just to pick up equipment, and from the looks of things, he had no intention of stepping in to say goodbye to the kids. And all of this, knowing that he does not know how long he will be gone away from them. Jason is a man in a Family but who is acting like he’s single and have no attachments.

I think ppl dont realize that Jason was in this life way before him and Sam met. He did try to leave before and it was not working. It is not that he does not want to put Sam first when it comes to this life it is just he does not know how to. He struggles with that all the time. You can see it every time he looks at her. Even though I hate them not being together Jason in a way is putting Sam first. He put her safety, their kids, and their lives first by walking away.

And here’s the thing, Danny live that life, he saw what it meant to be in a Family, he knows the difference. You think he is not thinking about what life was like when they thought Drew was his dad or what life was when they lived with Patrick? How completely different things are now than they were? He is old enough and it is not as though he grew up living like this, completely the opposite.

@@85chicaloca Here the thing, Danny did not live that life. Danny was small when Jason died. Jason was presumed dead for 5 years until Jake showed up and lived as his father who was very involved as a parent for a while. Danny even stated he wasnt used the the bodyguards and that Jason isn't around much. Danny doesn't have to get used to examples of poor parenting, which is also important as well as the fact that kids are smart. They can see the difference between an involved parent and one whose not. Like it or not Jake was an involved parents and Danny does remember that. Danny did not just gain amnesia of his years before simply because Jason, his father, came back.

She just can’t handle it an she finally understands. She gave Elizabeth crap all the time, Carly did also until Michael was shot. I think Sam needs to see that having Jason with her when he can be is better then never having him at all. Except as demonstrated, Danny is not happy with it, and has not been for a long time. The only thing that pretending that all of this is normal has done to the kid, is to force him to hide his feelings and pretend that everything is fine just so that things can continue. It’s obvious that he had all of these things bottled up in him, and it’s a good thing that Sam give him that space where he could feel safe to voice them. For goodness sake‘s, the kid is afraid to ask his father where he is going every time he leaves, that is unhealthy.

Its soo annoying when people are quick to condemn others when they're not being good fathers. But they make excuses for the ones the characters they like when they're acting like bad parents. Once more, they get mad at the the child or person for reaxting appropriately to it. Jason needs to make a decision to better prioritize his family or he will lose them. Rightfully so! It kills me that Carly and Sonny don't really seem to care what happens until theres fallout or they find it appropriate. Then theyre try to fix something they could have prevented. They are not going to get the fallout, Jason will.

Kids learn from adults. In real life all that these kids have learned from their “PARTICIPATION AWARDS”, is their are no winners or losers! How wrong they were for teaching these kids that... same here... Daddy has a job that is dangerous an you either have daddy or you don’t. @@RVthereyetmemaw let's not make this bigger than it is. Sam isn't going to keep Danny from his father, Jason. Her character has not been written that way. Its just Sam and Jason may be not be together if Jason doesn't learn to prioritize. Not to mention their breakup doesn't determine the end of Dannys relationship to his father. Jason's actions will. If Danny has a bad relationship with his father, then its Jason's fault, especially with the way Jason is acting. It would not be due to Sam because shes been there since birth and an active parent. Whereas, Jason hasnt but chooses to constantly flake on Danny and chooses others over his own son. That is a verified, sure way to mess up a good relationship with your child. Its bad parenting too.

I don't like Sam and Jason together anymore; for one they are boring to me and two they need to be over now. Yes she knew what Jason's job intails but its different when you don't have kids verses having kids. She could have lost him and their son in that explosion, but didn't thank God! so she now realizes that this life can't be for her anymore; eventhough Jason should have realized that himself. I understand he just can't leave the business but he could tell Sonny that someone else needs to do his dirty work or do it yourself. Tell him that I have Sam and Danny to think about too and I can't just jump everytime you call me to take care of a "problem". I think Sam just finally grew up and heard what Alexis said about if "its more important to be right rather than a good mother". She just chose to be a good mother she listened to her son's heart and her own and made her decision. I know when Carly hears this she's going to try and convince Sam to stay with Jason because he can't lose her now not with what's going on with Cyrus, but she's putting herself first.

Jonathan Mays that answer can be found in her comments about her father, and how it’s a complete fantasy to think that life can have any normalcy or happy ending in a life like that. In other words, she realizes that it’s all a fantasy, that the life she thought she could have with Jason is all a fantasy. Reality came knocking, in fact, it has been knocking for a while now, this was just a culmination of all of that.

Jonathan Mays Drew knew that Sam, as much as she loved him, loved Jason as well. Drew broke up with Sam because he couldn’t stay around knowing that he wasn’t one who had her heart when she was the only one who had his; Drew’s word. Drew took that option off the table and the second he did, they dismantled all the growth Sam had while Jason was gone. That is the only way any woman is allowed to be in that life in order for any relationship to work. They are the ones made to change and sacrifice everything while Jason makes no changes or adjustments and does not have to sacrifice anything. The writing around his return was garbage with the sole aim to reunite Jasam and give Jason everything he lost. Everything was sacrificed on that altar, and for what?

@ForeverErica Eventually she would of left Drew and went back to Jason though. How do I know that? Look back on all her past relationships. Lucky, Patrick, and Drew. She also had brief relationships with Silas and an attraction to John McBain. All those guys were pretty stable and not in the mob and the character of Sam always went back to Jason. Y'all can say that she was different before she had kids but that's not exactly true either because some of these relationships were after she had kids. I think the huge retcon in her character is all of the sudden having an issue with Jason's business when up until a few months ago she never had a problem with it. Oh and I am sorry but Danny getting caught in the crossfire doesn't justify her 180 either. She was around when Michael got shot and Morgan got killed. She participated in kidnapping Elizabeth's kids 🙄🙄🙄. Sam is not exactly an innocent bystander. I do agree with you on the writers being determined to put her and Jason together but they haven't worked as a couple for a very long time. 🤷.
