Great analysis of one of the best screenplays of all time. This might be the best movie to analyze story structure. I think it's flawless and you did a great job! Each character has a clear perspective.

Thank you Timm! I agree this film is incredibly detailed when it comes to story structure and character writing. So detailed that lots of it will fly over your head on a first casual viewing. Rewatchability is a very important aspect for me when it comes to a film & this one has more value than any I've ever seen.

Once stuck fixing apartment for two weeks. For entertainment had only "War and peace" audiobook and "12 Angry Men". Watched it 7 times from start to finish, never got bored. Favorite.

While I was writing the script for this analysis I watched it 6 times in a week. 3 for the analysis of course but the other 3 were purely for my entertainment! You truly can't get bored with this film.

@@smokinggun8418 I'm not sure how long considering it was a rework of his 1954 live teleplay script that is very similar. If you're ever interested in reading the screenplay, you can download it from The Script Lab site for free. Definitely worth the read!

What a great review of a great film. The outstanding talents of the cast plays a big part of what makes this one of the best films of all time. I must watch it again, it's been about ten years since I last saw it. Cheers Uninspired.

Thank you Franko! You really should give it a re-watch soon. The absolute powerhouses these actors were, sold the film even more. It's funny because the only known cast members at the time were Henry Fonda & Lee J. Cobb, the rest were a bunch of "nobodies" and this is the film that launched their careers!

@@TheUninspiredReviewer My VHS copy is taped off the TV in the 80's, so it's not the best quality esp after all these years. I've just ordered a DVD copy from ebay, $2.19 with free shipping. :)

@@frankowalker4662 There's actually a 4K version that was announced for this year! I'm not sure when but I think it's in the first couple months of the year, March maybe. That's a pretty sweet deal, physical media is always the best way to go.

@@TheUninspiredReviewer With my eyes, 4K is lost on me. LOL. And yes, I alway get the DVD or CD rather than a download. With physical media you have it for life, whereas if you only have a download your harddrive could get corrupted, then you've lost it all.

I loved this film! What I especially found interesting about it is how dynamic a camera in a constrained space. Really, we, the audience, are the 13th member of this room. The analysis was great as well! So many facets of this film! There's a movie with a very similar setting to this one, the theme is very different though. The Man from Earth (2007). I'm not saying it's on the level of this film, but if one enjoyed this one, might worth a look on that as well.

Funny of you to say that but i've been planning to do a "The Man From Earth" video for a while, it's an underrated gem I never hear anyone talk about. Juror 4s problem was that he had already decided his judgement thinking he had it all thought out He has tunnel vision and fails to see how faulty his firm standing point is until the final piece of evidence is kicked out from under hin

Agreed, Juror 4 knew what his decision was from the start but could sway either way if the evidence pointed otherwise. Which is what happened. The film uses him as the last logical piece to convince the viewer as well, if Juror 4 changed his opinion, then it was over; because the only remaining Juror was against the others out of prejudice.
