My Africa Twin fires right up every time. I think the coldest I started up was 6 degrees. I start my bikes up once a week in the winter. Still impressive riding in that weather though.

As a harley owner I have to saw Harley has left the chat when it goes below 5 degrees Celsius the 20w 50 oil is just way too viscous when cold I if I was riding in those Temps I would put a little space heater in front of the oil tank for 30 or so min and it would bring the oil temp up to 15c and make starting a breeze

Thats the oil's problem, not the bike's. You can go lower with the number before W without harming the engine in any way.

it is not the motorcycle which had a problem of freezing but your battery was almost dry, notice the boron table tin with each stroke of the starter.

Engine oils have quite high boiling and very low freezing temps. And its oil after all oil is denser and doesn't freeze that easily.

Any lithium battery will act like that on a first crank at sub zero temperature. after the battery start to heating up it back to normal.
