@@Ashley-nk3we Ashley, I’m not able to ascertain if you’re a temporary foreign worker concerned about the welfare of less fortunate guest-laborers there (that’s what I’d like to believe). It’s possible that you’re a bot, or that Ashley isn’t your name and you’ve been tasked with eliminating, flagging, and/or region-locking videos that show terrible truths. The exposés I watched were easily available to me in a geo-location very far, with very relaxed rules about what’s alright to show: videos showing extreme abuse and maltreatment were in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, and also in the Philippino languages of Cebuano and Tagalog. Media monitors far over there didn’t squash the documentaries and clips because they weren’t in the majority language of the hegemonic culture, and spoken Arabic was in these types of journalistic exposés as little as possible, and faces of full citizens or “important denizens” were blurred.

@@ZONEPRESSLLC Taiwan is a place that most westerns wish they would never have to leave. The chances of scoring a job there other than a low level health care job is very slim. Those are "Guest workers". Under contract. When it's done, out you go. Getting a residency permit is tough.

@@dlewis9760 obtaining an APRC card and / or permission to stay that’s not tied to your job IS difficult in Taiwan. Lots of forms to fill out, things to get proven, usually there is some “leave Taiwan and then re-enter” thing, but if you try really hard & don’t give up it’s *possible*. I’ve seen it done (without even marrying a Taiwanese person).

@@dlewis9760 Two points: 1) some videos said it's easy to get an English teacher jobs where they u very well, earn enough $ able to afford to live in there; 2) what about fear of China-Tw war ruins your stay/safety? I want to find ways to stay in TW for longer than 3+ months too, beside have to re-enter 2-4x per yr and if they allow u re-enter - sometimes they Q on why u re-enter so many times then decline u! Actually I wish I can also stay in China longer than 3+ mo easily b/c there are more pretty gals in China, the foods and culture/infrastructures are all more massive scale - more people to make friends, more culture/foods choices from, everything is over 10x to choose from, but the downside is fear of its govt. HK, Macau is 2x-4x more expensive to stay though and China is cheaper compare to them!

Dollar is it Canadian or US
@miahconnell23 Жыл бұрын
Lol, you must be Canadian. Only a Canadian citizen or denizen would have a Canadian dollar come to mind when someone says the word “dollar.” (No disrespect meant on that: you have a legitimately great country: Montreal is on par with NYC or a European city, and BC’s misty greenery is like a curative that causes calm. I’m just giving you a hard time because books and magazines and videos covering international differences always talk in US dollars and/ or local currency. Is that good or bad ? I dunno, it’s just the way it is. It sucks that the US dollar is no longer tied to a gold standard: fiat currency could just evaporate if everyone stopped believing in it.)
