Yang Yang has more things to consider about. He has been famous before The Untamed which was one of early friendship makeover from Danmei genre. I doubt that many already well known actors would take a risk and that´s why many of the casts in The Untamed were fairy new. Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo had shown that they are perfect choices. Sometimes I wonder if there´s curse look at Xiao Zhan, Zhang Zhehan what they have been through.

Tantai Jin couldn't have been played by anyone except LYX. His demeanor, tormented character, and chemistry with Bai Lu is unrivaled. TTEOM imo wouldn't have been as successful if GJ had played the role. The Legend of Anle had great expectations too, but unfortunately the script and production fell flat. YY's rejection of some key roles is also interesting. WRTW also became a better hit due to Zhao Lu Si. The Long Ballad's Ashile Sun was also exceptional because of Leo Wu and I can't imagine another actor in that role.

I think it was meant to be or fated for those actors/actresses that got the role. If they didn't play as the main leads, the drama would have flopped. I am glad things became the way they did.

When I think that others almost played Tantai Jin, I tell myself that we almost ruined a wonderful drama ! Luo Yunxi matches Tantai Jin's physical description much better, and has no equal for tragic scenes or moments of madness. No one could have interpreted our Tantai Jin so well.

As Luo Yunxi fans who followed Tteotm since 2020. Tteotm was never offered to anyone except LYX. Producer CEO Otter culture confirmed this in an interview, LYX was in since the very beginning of this project. this is the same team as immortality. Right after filming Immortality, LYX was offered to pick 2 IP novel and he chose TTEOTM. In fact all lYX fans already knew he has this role since Oct 2020. What was true was the role of Runyu was offered to Bai Jing Ting. He refused then the author chose LYX who wasn’t famous before

I think the roles became big because of the actors who played them... I know WoH in particular would have been a totally different work, and likely less impactful, if Li Daikun had taken the lead... He's actually my favorite actor in my favorite role in the drama, but he was right about his suitability for that lead role.

I agree that Leo Luo has made Tantai Jin his best xianxia drama ever 😊 I’m glad Deng Wei snatched the role as Tushan Jin instead of Xu Kai… ( I like Xu Kai btw) Deng Wei is an excellent actor and he got his chance to be male lead now in love of the divine tree. Yang Yang however might have pulled it off for Xiao Liu but Tan Jianci is better for this role 😊❤ I think Lost You Forever is perfect as is- I’m waiting for season 2 in 2 weeks ! Yay finally 😊

I find is the other way round too, the actors making the show memorable. eg. if Yang Mi starred as the female lead in Who rules the world, I would have been bored by her acting. eg. Luo Yunshi, Bailu, Yang Zi, Xiao Zhan, Wu Jinyan suits the roles they were playing and makes the show a classic.
