Untamed was my base to Chinese culture, it got me into Chinese musical instruments, clothes, Chinese costume dramas as well as mxtx novels and though I personally follow lan wangji ideology but I was fond of weiwuxian character both in novel and drama and I felt like Xiao zhan was made for this character, I searched about Xiao zhan and when I find out that he is banned because of some foolish reason I was dumbstruck I felt like he is literally living weiwuxian life, looking him now, really happy for him and his success.

The Untamed actually got me hooked on Chinese drama. I will be truthful I had not read the original book before watching the drama but Xiao Zhan & Wang yibo both portrayed their character so well that I was left speechless especially Xiao Zhan. After that I read the whole novel(I have woken up an obsession for novels now). After reading the novel I felt like Xiao Zhan was born to play the role of Wei Wuxian and now I am a loyal fan of Xiao Zhan.

Also, Xiao Zhan himself said in an interview that he had a happy childhood and a loving family. I don't think he would say that if there was any truth in those talks about abuse. From other interviews, it seems that his parents were also quite strict - allowing him to go on the internet only very rarely etc., and his father is not used to showing affection openly. But that's not abuse.

I watched The Untamed in 2019 and it is still my favorite show to this day. 2020 was a terrible year for Xiao Zhan. But also for everyone who likes this young man. It was unfair and just plain terrible. I am an old woman (54). He could be my son. I felt so sorry for him. But it made all the fans stronger. And we love him even more.

Just watched the untamed after watching the anime version. I became so attached to the characters, Wei Wu Xian and Lan Wang Ji, that I have been searching everywhere videos, interview, behind the scene of the actors. He performed so well his role, the crying and laughing just got to the heart of the viewers, he is stunning in everything, for someone who just started to learn to dance in the competition, we can see how hard working he has been to be able to catch up. So sad that he had to go through the 227 case... he did nothing wrong but had to apologize to everything... He really is the real life Wei Wu Xian ... I hope he is good now and still in touch with Wang Yi Bo, they are just too cute together !

Yep. Same here! My family would say I was in love with both characters from the untamed. Yibo and Zhan played masterfully given the chinese censorship. Very talented actors anf ZY paid with his health for making that series. The storues of his embodying the character are akin to what Daniel Day Lewis (My Lwft Foot), Martin Freeman (Hobbit) and Hugo Morgenstein (TLOTR) did with their presence in the movies.

Une fanfiction est apparue montrant une histoire d'amour entre wang yi bo et Xiao Zhan (habillé en femme), ce qui a créé un scandal parmi les fans de Xiao Zhan qui ont dénoncé la plateforme de fanfiction. Celle-ci a finalement été fermée par le gouvernement chinois ce qui a attristé tous les fans de la plateforme qui ont commencé à s'attaquer à Xiao Zhan... Cela a failli détruire sa carrière. Il s'est excusé de n'avoir rien pu faire face à lampleur de la situation , alors qu'il n'y était pour rien. Thank you for making this mini documentary of XZ career path. I just have known him accidentally this July 2023 through his drama The Longest Promise having no other kdrama that interests me. I am not a fan of cdrama because of its very long episodes but like its xianxia. Since the white costume of the man in the thumbnail reminds me of a drama I really like a long time ago, I started watching ep 1 with not much expectation. But by 2nd episode, I know I was in danger. I have fallen and fully captivated by the acting of this man. Then I started searching for his other dramas and movie and tumbled upon The Untamed. I also discovered that he is not only a very passionate and good actor but also a good person who went through a lot but remained strong yet humble. He truly is worthy of my respect. I remember when The Untamed was released on Netflix I was refusing to watch because there are 50 episodes, for it was to long. But I read the comments everyone was loving the drama. Finally I watched it was my first Chinese drama and I still in love with the The untamed. Xiao and Wang Yibo performing was absolutely amazing.

They have never been seen ever together since XZ was demolished as artist, because of the 227 case, which was not really a case, and this Chinese student, who made the porn flick depicting XZ as predator should have been persecuted, and paid all the financial loss XZ had to face. Anyway, l am stopping, because to me the whole toxic fan base of Yibo is disgusting, and all the other spreader of this Yibo-XZ cult. Not to acknowledge even deny that Yibo cashed in everything (endorsement, roles, being aired etc) taken away from Xiao Zhan is just fact, fact, fact....but this bs about them will never go away. Every single channel regarding their “togetherness” was faked pictures cut together from unrelated material like a collage, youngster speaking about them as they would ever have seen them, or know what they are doing,while everything they fantasied, not having any own live. Disgusting. Who would be interested in other peoples private life in such a degree, if you have your own. I agree with most of your video. Xiao Zhan has, however, publicly and often made clear who his true fans are, those close to his heart and who always stood by him in good and bad times. As he has, and continues to, seek justice from people who hurt him and targeted his family. There have already been sentences, criminal and civil, and "the opponent", as Xiao Zhan's lawyer called them, may be strong but sooner or later Karma will get him. The infamous 227 was planned way before that date, evidence isn't even difficult to find even for non-Chinese people. And that novel, it created a mess because it was advertised on Chinese socials. AO3 was already down in China when XZ's antis launched their attack. They thought he could be easily destroyed, forced to silence or worse. Much worse. We have already seen what happened to Korean stars when targeted. But he isn't like everybody else. He is Xiao Zhan. And he rose from the ashes to reclaim what has always been his, and was briefly stolen and given to others. He will continue to shine when those who rely on crooked ways will be forgotten.
