I fought off 3 home invaders. I’ve been training in martial arts for over 50 years, but there were 3 big guys and one had a knife. I suffered a slash to my arm, but I put 2 of them down straight away and the 3rd guy ran off before I could get to him. Police cars blocked his exit. The biggest guy was lying in his own urine as the police smacked him awake. I broke a knuckle by punching his nose so hard. Yay! 😁👍

I fought off 4 home invaders.They were all Navy Seals who had joined a cartel,and all were carrying .50 calibre rifles.I picked up two(one in each arm)and tossed them out the door.The other two handed me their rifles ,and left.The next day they sent me a fruit basket and a Starbucks gift card as an apology.

All I can say is know the laws of your state regarding self-defense. Minnesota is a "Duty to Retreat" state. Meaning if you can safely leave, by law, that is what you are to do. Between 5-6 a.m., I was sitting in the dark at the kitchen table having a cup of coffee. My landlord's drunk girlfriend walked right into our home, drink in hand, and was saying, "I'm here to check and see how you pieces of shit live............." and proceeded to walk to the back of the house where our bedroom was at. I was screaming for my husband while recording the incident. He wrapped her in a bear hug and threw her off the porch. I called 911. 15 minutes later, I call 911 again and was told an officer was dispatched to our place. Another 15 minutes later, I call 911 again and am told the officer said he was with me and taking a statement. The officer finally came over and my husband and I were almost arrested. It was and is against the law for my husband to throw this woman out. I was an accessory because I didn't leave my house.

Ugh, this is insane, you can't even defend yourself or your home without being charged, what the hell is the world coming to, sheesh. A few years back some idiot tried to break into the apartment where me and my folks live in, so I grabbed a knife and waited because you never know how they could take the door down, and because my Mom has a heart condition, my focus was to protect her and my elderly late father. He tried to kick the door in but the police came but he ran away. Never had any charges against me for being defensive.

We had an incident here in Minnesota a number of years ago where two teens broke into a man's home. They had done this before to the same man and had stolen his medications, the medals he won in WWII and a number of other very personal and valued items. In this last incident where the teens once again broke in to his home, the man was actually at home this time. He waited until the burglars came down his basement stairs and then used a firearm to shoot them. Both of the teenagers perished and now this old man finds himself in prison for the remainder of his life. Does anyone else think this is highly unfair? It is hard for me to understand how this old bachelor should be imprisoned for the remainder of his life when he was defending himself and his property. It just doesn't seem right, though the burglar teenagers did die from their gunshot wounds. I would like to hear what other people think of this case and its outcome.

You forgot to mention that he kept the bodies in his basement for a few days. That's why he got charged with murder. The prosecutor said if he would have called the police it would have been self defense

@@freddyferguson7763 Thanks for the reply. I didn't know about him keeping the bodies for a few days! That indeed does make quite a difference. I wonder why he did that? Very strange. Still, the sentence of life in prison he received seems a little too aggressive and too much, considering how those kids kept stealing from him over and over. Maybe there is more to the story that I also don't know about. I'm not sure what those teens expected. People are going to defend their property if they are able. What is sad is that not only did the teens lose their lives ( misbegotten or otherwise ), but the victim also lost his life, since he will now die in prison. It is a sad case all around and no one wins in the end. Thank you for replying and adding the extra info. I appreciate that. It makes a difference!

He must have been so enraged by these kids breaking into to his home once again, and stealing his WWII medals and awards and all of his other valuable possessions, that he lost it and pretty much executed them. I mean, I get being ticked off because those items are very personal and precious. But, maybe he should have only injured the twerps and not killed them outright. Then, call the police. But the thing is, the police were well aware of this situation and chose to do nothing. They refused to help the man or charge the kids for the previous robberies. It is one of those cases where you ( at least, I do ) feel bad for the real victim in all this, which is the old man. He is now going to die in prison and those stupid kids lost their lives because they chose to be criminals. Everyone loses in cases like this. Except the police and attorneys, I guess? Sad case for sure.

Louisiana is too but what the cops told my mom and I when I had an ex act a fool was that the burden of proof that our lives were in danger and that it was a last option, we had always understood it differently so we asked him to explain more. He said basically if he was at the back door we would need to run to furthest room lock it call 911 and arm ourselves, we had to warn him several times ect and the burden of proof would be on us. Luckily it worked out for the better but it was eye opening to see the difference in what we had heard about the law verses everything we hadn't.
