Cruise Carry on Packing
Your cruise carry on bag should contain several items you will need right when boarding the ship. First off are all your documents, government IDs, and reservation confirmations. You might not even get on the ship if you don't have your passport or boarding day tickets.
Also, when packing for a cruise, please include multiple payment forms. Along with having small bills for tips and purchases ashore, I also stash my credit cards in the bag. I never let this leave my sight. If something happens to your checked luggage, at least you will have the funds to buy some new clothes.
Also, when packing a carry on for a cruise, make sure to have all of your medications. This includes any prescriptions you might need, as well as over-the-counter varieties. Heidi and I always have a small pouch with aspirin, band-aids, and anti-witch cream. Bring a few extra day in case of travel delays.
As you can expect, our cruise carry on is also packed with plenty of electronics. These include our cameras, video equipment, microphones, and accessories. Even if you are not as crazy as us, you should have your cell phone and chargers in your carry on bag. We also recommend a cruise-approved power adapter with USB and outlets to help maximize space in your cabin.
Other musts when packing a cruise carry on bag are changing clothes and toiletries. Hoping into the pool when you board is an extra special treat. If there are delays getting your luggage, having items like toothpaste or soap can help you freshen up before heading to that Day 1 dinner.
A well-stocked cruise carry on bag should also have the cruise line allowed bottles of wine. Most cruise lines allow cruisers to bring two bottles onboard at check-in. Other items you want to remember when packing for a cruise include a refill water bottle. Many cruise lines are getting eco-friendly, which will be useful onboard and ashore.
You'll want to get your cruise started off right, so make sure your cruise lanyard for your key card is in your cruise carry on bag. If you are traveling with kids, don't forget some toys or activities for the little ones. When packing a carry on bag for a cruise, you will want some items to help your kids stay engaged and active during the cruise.
