I am doing my first 12 cast ons challenge. Last night I had done my 6th cast on and was sure that would be all I could manage. However, with today being a new day, I have decided to do another one and see what tomorrow brings! It is not bending the rules at all to make 2 similar pairs of socks. 1 of my cast ons is doing a cotton washcloth at least once a month, so by the end of the year, I will have a nice new box of them. Another one is to make acrylic DK beanies with a double folded rib, which again will provide a nice box for donation to the homeless shelter for next year. It really is good fun, isn’t it? This has reminded me that I also have the Lichen and Lace yarn from Baadeck Yarns. While I was in Halifax to visit family, I intentionally added on a trip to Baddeck focussing on the yarn store. Always a necessity for a knitter!

There were people from Germany who would schedule their Celtic Colours trip around a visit to Baadeck Yarns. I miss that shop!

The socks you choose to make are so pretty! A friend gifted me The Curiously Cozy Socks collection by Helen Stuart. Such pretty socks! I have a ton of sock collections to knit. I have Paper Daisy's Anne of Green Gables collection as well as The Princess Bride collection. I am working today but have the rest of the week off to KNIT IN PJs!!! Woohoo!

Oh, I am so happy you are knitting one of Carli's patterns. She is such a clever designer. I have test knit for her several times, but I normally test the toe up versions. It blows my mind that for every design she writes two patterns. One toe up and one cuff down!!

Totally not cheating! I'm choosing to use up some stash, some new, WIP's, ect. I think just getting things completed is also super important. Thank you for saying something about the Homestead collection being on sale. I went in and picked it up myself as I have some yarn I feel would look stunning in those patterns. I say your knitting, your rules! 😁My 12 days of cast ons are a list of 12 things I've been wanting to make for a long time and keep putting off. I'm not actually casting them on yet, though. 3 are new cast ons but the rest will get cast on as I finish other things. I have way too many WIPS to finish before I am able to cast on all 12. lol! ... having a list of the 12 will motivate me a lot. I think casting on 3 at the end of 4 months in a row may be do-able for me!

I wouldn’t worry so much about rules. Just enjoy your knitting! No one will know or care what you actually did. It’s all good!
