If it still works, then that's a great idea. The only thing I don't agree with is the shear weight dependent on the screws driven into the sides. It seems that putting the 2x6 on top of the dolly so the weight is directly on the wheels rather than on the side would work better.

When I make a set I'm going to try and make the sides supported by the tops of the dolly as well, via an extra 2x4 beam, I want them to last for a long while lol, great idea and cool video man keep on innovating man.

Recommendation: Try using #9 x 2-1/2 in. "Star" Flat-Head Wood Deck Screws. Drill won't "hop" out of those as easy. Great video!

Maybe you could show how you went about creating the removable rear apron.

Nice invention. As a few others felt, I'm concerned how engine was slid under rear apron. Did you raise car? We're you able to keep engine on dolly as you removed it?

Second Looks For Men look at the jack with stack of 2x4’s. He jacked the car up higher to roll it out. Dolly is for convenience of moving engine only

Lol they cut the part out him pulling it out from under the car. Looks to tall or car has to go higher to clear fanshroud

Nice video! Please remember, it's not healthy for dogs to actually eat the wood. It's OK if they chew on it but it is bad for them to swallow it.

Looks like you have the wrong clutch plate for the gearbox (you have an early clutch on a late box)

Wow good eye! Yes, I did have the wrong clutch plate. I removed the center ring in the pressure plate to make it work. www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=623056

That will make it run a little better!

I think I would have made whole frame of the 2X's and just mounted the wheels on that.

Where is the dog's safety glasses? You don't want anyone tagging him with the name Popeye or Blinkie.
